About CICADABUZZ

Cicadabuzz is a medicine cat of sharp edges and little patience, a healer who values efficiency over sentiment and action over empty reassurances. Blunt and unsentimental, they do not waste words on false comforts, nor do they coddle those who come to them for aid. If a warrior limps in with a thorn in their paw, they will be met with a dry stare and a clipped, 'You'll live,' before Cicadabuzz sets to work. Their care is not unkind, but it is practical—pain is inevitable, and survival depends on strength, not softness. They expect their patients to endure, to push through discomfort as they do, and while they will not let a cat suffer needlessly, they also do not indulge in dramatics.

They are a medicine cat who values practicality over pleasantries, a healer whose sharp tongue is matched only by their sharper skill. Their bedside manner is brisk, efficient, and often laced with dry humor or exasperation, but their knowledge of herbs and injuries is impeccable. If they tell a cat they'll live, they mean it. If they don't, they won't sugarcoat the truth. They believe in their own judgement more than any omens or signs they might receive. To Cicadabuzz, healing is not about mysticism—it is about survival.

About MAGPIEPAW

Magpiekit is not dissimilar to his mentor in that he is very blunt and forward in his way of speaking, not mincing words and speaking honestly even if the truth is harsh and hurtful - he does, however, have much more empathy than Cicadabuzz for others even if he struggles to show it in a meaningful way leading cats to think him just as cold and unsentimental at times. He prides himself on being studious, taking the time to understand things even if it's something as mundane as the source behind insignificant injuries where his mentor would dismiss the cause to focus on the effect. Despite not seeming so, he is a bit of a chatterbox and enjoys talking, happily sharing his knowledge and listening to others in aspects he is unfamiliar with: the love of learning is strong in him, almost to his own detriment as he will often be too experimental.

While still learning he will often repeat exact phrases and ways Cicadabuzz has explained them even if they do not make sense out of context of his lessons, he has a tendency to let his thoughts wander and get distracted if something catches his eye but he is quick to focus in emergencies, just expect him to stare at a butterfly for too long while trying to patch up your cracked paw pad since that's not serious enough to keep him locked in.

DEN DESCRIPTION & RULES

The ShadowClan medicine cat den is nestled beneath the thick, gnarled roots of an ancient, half-dead tree, its entrance concealed by a curtain of brambles and thorny undergrowth. The air within is cool and damp, carrying the faint scent of herbs and rich earth. Beneath the natural overhang of the roots, the den remains well-sheltered from rain and wind, its narrow entrance ensuring that only those who truly need aid dare step inside.

Every aspect of the den is built for function rather than comfort. The main chamber is a space of quiet efficiency, its packed earth floor softened by a layer of pine needles and moss to keep the ground dry. A smooth, flat stone at the center of the space serves as a treatment area. Nearby, a small hollowed-out log holds fresh moss soaked in water, ready for patients in need. The patient nests are arranged in a neat row along one side of the den. Cicadabuzz's own nest is tucked away toward the farthest wall, out of the way but positioned where they can still keep an eye on their charges. Should they ever take on an apprentice, their nest would be nearby—close enough for instruction, but not so close as to be a nuisance. A narrow tunnel at the back of the den leads to a hidden exit, a practical feature for emergencies or moments when solitude is needed.

Everything is in its place, kept strictly organized to Cicadabuzz's standards. Along the den walls, shallow hollows have been meticulously scooped out and reinforced with woven twigs, each one filled with carefully sorted herbs. A raised alcove toward the back of the den, insulated with dried moss, houses rarer and more sensitive herbs, kept dry and undisturbed. A small dip in the ground by the hidden exit serves as a discard pile for spoiled herbs, to be cleared out regularly. There is no room for clutter or useless trinkets here.

Cicadabuzz has rules they expect to be followed when others enter their den. They uphold these rules and dislike having to repeat themself.

• Do not come in unless you have a reason to be there. The medicine den is not a place for idle chat or loitering. If you are not sick, injured, or assisting with something important, stay out.
• Do not touch the herbs. Every herb is stored exactly where it belongs. If you move something, Cicadabuzz will know, and you will regret it.
• Do not waste supplies. Herbs are not infinite, and ShadowClan does not have the luxury of wasting resources. If you need treatment, you will take only what is necessary—no complaints, no nonsense.
• Listen the first time. Cicadabuzz will not repeat instructions. If they tell you to rest, you rest. If they tell you to keep weight off your leg, you do it. If you ignore their advice and get worse, they will not be pleased.
• Do not bring a mess into their den. Cicadabuzz is a healer, not a personal servant. They will treat your wounds, but you will not leave their den a mess.
• No whining. Healing takes time, and some treatments hurt. Cicadabuzz does not tolerate unnecessary dramatics—if they say you will live, then you will live.
• Respect the space. The medicine den is a place of healing, not a battleground. Do not bring Clan disputes inside, and do not wake sleeping patients unless absolutely necessary.
• Do not argue. Cicadabuzz knows more than you do when it comes to healing. If they give you an order regarding treatment or care, you will follow it without question.
• Emergency cases take priority. If you are here for something minor, do not expect immediate attention if someone else is in worse condition. Cicadabuzz will treat the most serious cases first, and you will wait your turn.
