AND I WOULD NEVER WALK AWAY

'There's no way a Riverclan cat taught you to swim!
He wasn't sure how they'd gotten on the topic of the Riverclan cats, but Sunpaw hadn't felt any shame in admitting he'd befriended one– or that they'd taught him to swim in the river separating their groups. Torrentpaw was cool and fun and super nice, and the Thunderclan apprentice was genuinely proud to be able to claim they knew an actual Riverclan cat. It was a nice change compared to the neighbors across the thunderpath and the tension that reared its head whenever they were around or mentioned.
"Come on! You'll see– Torrentpaw said I was basically a natural at it so maybe I can teach you guys, too. It's gonna come in handy once the weather turns hot, that's for sure." laughed the boy as he led his little gaggle of apprentices down toward the waters edge, eager to prove he wasn't yanking their tails.
It was an unusually warm day in the territory, with the sun shining bright and the wind holding it's breath over the land, keeping the chill of spring and it's showers away. A little ironic, then, that on the one clear day they were having, Sunpaw intended to get wet, but he was grateful that he'd had the luck of decent weather on his side. It would have been pretty dull if it'd been too cold to actually show his clanmates he wasn't messing around.
"Alright, just watch..." he instructed, slipping down to the edge of the water and stepping into the lapping water without any hesitation.
"Brr! It's a little cold a first, and it feels really weird between your toes, but it's really fun once your used to it!" he explained as he finally got to a deep enough part to easily began to tread water. He swam in a few circles, trying to show off how he was kick-pushing the water with his paws beneath the lazy waves. "See? Just don't freak out, and trust your paws. I'd definitely practice in the shallow water first if your going to try it!"
He made sure to repeat Torrentpaws words, not wanting anyone to go too fast and drown because they panicked. They were in a pretty calm part of the river right now anyways, with lot of shallow spots to catch your feet on and a current that didn't pose much of a threat. Sunpaw would have been hesitant to invite them in otherwise, but this looked like a good spot to maybe teach his friends something new.
