BERRYKIT
The air is colder now that leaf-fall has begun, but it's still warm enough to sun outside. Berrykit doesn't seem to be the only one who thinks so, as he spots Duskpool napping outside the warrior's den, sunning his fur while he still can. Duskpool looks so comfortable and relaxed in the sun...it would be a shame if someone were to tug at his tail... No, but what if the older cat doesn't even wake up to a kitten tugging at him? What fun would that be? To Berrykit, Duskpool seems rather old and he definitely sleeps heavier than him or his brother.
Berrykit's whiskers twitch as he thinks of a better plan - he turns to his brother mischievously. "Hey Ducklingkit, what if we prank gwandpapa?" Duskpool isn't Berrykit's grandfather per se, but he was his mom's former mentor and Berrykit loves him like family. "Look at him napping over there." he points at the dark tom with his tail. "Bet he would sleep through a thunderstorm if one were to occur!"
He thinks for a moment, looking around camp, until his gaze stops at the fallen leaves littered around camp - it truly was leaf-fall now. "Why don't we see who can stick more of those leaves onto his fur, before he wakes up?" The young tom beams with pride, mischief sparkling in his eyes.
As he turns around to go and gather all the necessary leaves, he spots a lone feather on the ground. He quickly grabs it, then scrambles to collect leaves - and perhaps even a few twigs twigs He wonders which leaves would stick in Duskpool's fur better, the pointy ones or the broad ones? He grabs both options just in case. The young tom has heavy paws, but he attempts to step lightly as he approaches the napping Sun Guard. Berrykit checks to see if Ducklingkit is behind him, spotting his brother bringing his own messy bundle of twigs and leaves. Berrykit's ears twitch as he tries not to giggle while placing the feather on Duskpool's shoulder.
When he reaches for a leaf to put on the warrior's back, Berrykit accidentally brushes his bushy tail against the Sun Guard's paw. Duskpool shifts and Berrykit almost jumps, startled - but it was just Duskpool moving in his sleep, no more awake than he had been a moment before. Phew, that was a close call, thinks Berrykit. I need to be more careful - can't have him wake up before we even properly start!
