Lavenderkit stands tall in beside her sister, holding her shoulder to Rosemarykit with ease. The way their fur ruffles makes them appear conjoined, but the she-kit does not give her twin any space to correct that assumption. She listens to the rules the caretakers set out - they will count to whatever number, and the kits will have that time to hide. Her tail rasps against the ground with impatience and as soon as they're given the freedom to race off, signaled by the adult counting, Lavenderkit finally tears from her sister's side.

The grey-furred molly bumps into Thunderkit in her rush to find a good hiding space, eventually throwing herself into the warrior's den. She sniffs the nests quickly, nose wrinkling as she searches for one in particular. Eventually, Lichentuft's bedding is located, and the young kit wriggles her body just beneath the moss and willow branches. There's a noticeable bump where the she-kit hides, but with the darkness of the den, it proves to be nearly impossible to find her.

[ hi friends!! fun game to play :] kits are hiding, and everyone else is seeking!!!
if you are a kit, roll a d20 in your channel, and hide!
if you are seeking, declare which kit you are trying to find first in your channel, and then roll a d20!
if the seeker rolls higher than the intended hider, then the seeker wins! if they roll lower, then the hider must make a new post with a new roll! so on & so forth until everyone is found <3 ]

[ lavviekit rolled a 17 :] good luck! ]

Adderfang wasn't entirely sure how he got roped into their games. He only planned to deliver fresh moss to the nursery, but before he knew it, he found himself enlisted in a game of hide-and-seek. Tasked with finding one of the few kits that scurried off to hide. He was familiar with the game after playing it with Crescentpaw and Rushpaw when they were younger. That seemed so long ago now.

The Life Guard had a never-ending list of things he could be doing, but he didn't want to disappoint the little minnows. He supposed that one of his duties included giving their caregivers a break from theirs.

Beginning the search, he carefully nudged aside a pile of moss, but the spot was unoccupied. The camp offered an abundance of hiding spots for a kit.

Maybe he was starting to feel his age because he had no idea where a kit would hide. He crouched, skuttling along the floor, scanning the nursery from a different perspective. Adderfang crawled, poking through stacks of moss, sifting through fish bones and shells—because maybe these kits were better at camouflage than he would've given them credit for.

A flicker of movement caught his eye but it was just a reed swaying over the woven entrance. He continued his search, shuffling quietly against the sandy floor. He poked at one of the nests and then peered under it, but as he lifted his head, a reed caught over his ears. The tom coiled back with a huff, trying to shake it off.

Adderfang is looking for Lavenderkit and rolled a 1. Ladies and gentleman, your illustrious Life Guard. Sorry ladies, he's married.

Containing the excitement to play was very thinly veiled by the glitter in Thunderkit's eyes, she was one of the bigger kittens playing, but with her apprenticeship around the corner, she wasn't one to turn down some fun running around camp. She listens to the rules passively, as if she hadn't already played this game more times than she could count, but it only felt fair for the little-ler kittens.

But then they were off to the races! As Thunderkit stood up to skitter off for a hiding place, a little blur thudded hard into her, blink, and Thunderkit almost missed the fact it was Lavenderkit rushing off to the warrior's den. The kitten had considered that herself, but it wouldn't feel fair, especially how much bigger she was, hiding would be a lot harder....

Thumping paws ran past Pikestar's den. There was a brief thought of hiding in there, but after hearing about him getting upset at Scalepaw, she thought she would rather save her pelt and try elsewhere. Eventually, hearing the counting grow ever closer to the start of the game, she decided that behind the willow stump might be a good idea. She huddled just behind the stump, regretting her idea just as fast as she had formulated it. Leaving her vulnerable on two sides to be caught, and not only so close to the river that made her fur bristle, but also made it hard to hear if anyone was nearby.

Though it was too little too late, if she were to run for it now, she would be caught for sure. Maybe no one would think to look behind here?

There was a flicker of amusement in Wavesong's eyes as she watched her partner skulk about camp, her gaze glimmering with playful mischief.
" Ye poor thing, yer flounderin' about, love! " she called out with a laugh, her voice bright with joy. With a flick of her ear, she took a slow glance around the clearing. Crescent, Rush, and Rose were growing up so fast… too fast. A small ache tugged at her chest. If only she could keep them kits forever. But time marched on, as it always did. She would simply have to enjoy the little ones who still filled the camp with their chaos and giggles.

Her heart twinged momentarily as her thoughts drifted to Rose's missing friend, the kit who had never been found. The pain still lingered like an old wound, but she held onto a fragile hope. Perhaps he was still out there. Perhaps he wasn't gone… Drawing in a deep breath, the white-and-black-furred she-cat rose to her paws, her gaze sharpening as it swept the camp. Now, where would a kit hide?
The warriors' den was the obvious choice... She herself would've ducked into the reeds, half-submerged in water if she had the chance. But...

Her eyes landed on the stump. A smile curled on her face, the mischief returning. Silent as a shadow, she crept toward it, paws light on the ground. With a soft chuckle and eyes twinkling, she leaned in and--

BAP!

A gentle tap on Thunderkit's backside.

" Why hey, hi, ye wee one! " she greeted, laughter dancing in her voice.

Thunderkit decided she surely couldn't be so unlucky so she decided to scout one side and leave it to chance she wouldn't be found in her blind spot. She bit her tongue, trying to be small and as quiet as she could.

Though there was a rustle, one that bristled her fur. She turned around, eyeing the edge of the stump, backing up slowly. If someone were to turn the corner, she could just hightail out of there, she can't be caught unless she's-

A tap of a paw nearly made her jump a tails length into the air, an indignant squeak she was immediately mortified about slipped from her lips as her fur puffed up. Thunderkit's ears burned in embarrassment with the mousey squeak she let out, looking up to see Wavesong had found her. The kitten couldn't help but let out a sigh of disappointment. "Pleaaaaase don't say I got caught first."

Though her tail drooped a little as she rounded the corner to see no other kittens in sight. "Awwh..." Even with her disappointment, she looked up at Wavesong and smiled. It sucked she lost, but she appreciated the warriors coming to play with them all.

Like Adderfang, Frostmoth also isn't sure how the kits have talked him into playing. Though he is probably one of the younger warrior-aged cats in RiverClan, he isn't exactly the playful type either. Still, when it had been enthusiastically suggested to him that he partake in a game of hide-and-seek, he isn't sure how he could have ever said no. As Thunderkit expresses her dismay at being swiftly found by Wavesong, he smiles in his amusement.

Turning away to try and find Lavenderkit's hiding spot, he tries to put himself into the perspective of a kit. Somewhere small enough to fit, but that still seems interesting to hang out in while waiting to be found. He taps his paw to his nose thoughtfully before turning to pad towards the apprentices' den. Many of the kits have a big interest in the den of their immediate rank seniors, excited by the idea of beginning their training.

The bicolor deputy pops his head inside and glances around. "Oh Lavenderkit...!" he calls into the den, picking his way inside. He minds his step, not wanting to disarray the nest of some poor apprentice. He can't imagine their dismay to come back from a long day to a nest that's been stomped all over. If it were Storm, she would have him flayed. Lavenderkit doesn't seem to be in here, and in a last ditch effort he sifts through some discarded nesting materials by the den's entrance before heading back outside.

A low, musical chuckle escaped the sea-loving she-cat as she leaned down to gently bump her shoulder against the kit's side, her eyes gleaming with amusement. She gave the young one a conspiratorial wink, her whiskers twitching with fondness. " Don't ye fret, wee one. " she meowed warmly, her voice laced with that familiar salt-swept lilt. " Ye'll be learnin' plenty once yer made an apprentice, includin' how t'hide proper. That, I promise ye. "

With a soft hum, she raised a paw and tousled it gently atop the kit's head, her touch affectionate but light. The fur beneath her paw was soft and fine, kit-fluff, still untouched by the harsher seasons of warrior life. " But I think ye did grand. " she continued, curling her tail neatly around her paws. " Not many would think t'look behind a stump, aye? It's too obvious for most. Ye just had the bad luck of bein' found by someone who thinks like a kit still. "

Her eyes danced with mischief as she gave the kit a playful grin. " Ye'll get me next time, I'm sure of it. "

[ rolled a 5 for a new number to beat!! <3 ]

Lavenderkit watches from the sparseness of Lichentuft's nest. The lack of light makes it difficult, in truth - she can only tell from the lack of sound that no one has yet found the warriors' den. Maybe they've checked the nursery, or the fresh kill pile, but not yet here. Maybe because kits aren't supposed to poke around the older cats' stuff? The blue furred girl isn't sure, and frankly doesn't care to ask. All she knows, from the whine of a familiar, childish voice, is that she will not be the first one out. And that, at least, is a win!

She presses herself slightly closer to the den's exit, still hiding beneath the misshapen moss. Lavenderkit wants to see who got caught, however unfortunately her movement and shuffling exposes her a good bit. The youth cringes when the nest falls around her again with a rustle and a wheeze. Crouching, she waits again, this time settled slightly closer to the den's entrance in hopes to watch more of her denmates get caught.
