The chimaera found herself antsy, sat alone there. She and her mate had agreed to meet prior to this, and yet? She was nowhere to be seen. Something uneasy settled in her chest, something she refused to acknowledge. Once before, she had found herself forgotten by a mate, then she had shrugged it off with the guise of her own fury toward the molly. But this time? She was simply beside herself in worry. Was Brightnose hurt again? Had something occurred? Was she upset and didn't want to meet?
Coyoteclaw was usually strong and level-headed, but it seemed the stunning silver pelted molly had really made her melt in her paws, softening her around the edges in a way she had never experienced before. Being away from her just made Coyoteclaw a forlorn mess. Alone there, at Fourtrees, she didn't dare to leave, delicately holding the shining thing in her paws as her mind raced. At the mere chance she would see that glittering pelt emerge at some point, she didn't dare move, but the day was passing by fast and-
Rustling caught her attention, her face breaking out in a smile as her heart soothed with warmth blooming in her chest to see Brightnose there, safe. She pressed her head beneath the silver molly's chin in a warm embrace as she found herself purring. "Oh Brightnose, my shining pearl, you're okay." Her gaze met the other's, her expression was apologetic as she breathed heavily from rushing there. To any other cat, she would have been annoyed, but oh, Starclan, she could never, not when it was her. A lovestruck expression settled on her maw as she pressed her forehead to the other, chuckling. "I'm just glad you're okay, dear, you had me worried sick."
She tilted her head, eyes glittering as she smiled warmly. A fresh bird, at this time of the season? Coyote's ears burned as she couldn't help but grin. "You brought me a bird? You're as sweet as ever." She purred, tail curled around her mate; it was such a strange feeling. The almost dizzying joy of the mundane, being brought prey, was done with love and care. Coyote's mind wandered to how lovely it'd be to wake up every day to fresh prey from her lovely other half, or better yet, to bring her fresh fish straight from the river. Her heart practically soared.
Then, she recalled what else was in the clearing. Coyoteclaw pulled away for a moment as she reached for the little trinket, smiling with her ears burning as she slid it towards the other. "I know we haven't been mates for long, but I'd requested from a weaver friend of mine to help with a gift. It's pretty common in Riverclan for mates to give one another woven gifts with small treasures in the weave."
Coyoteclaw presented a simple, yet delicate, woven reed bracelet. "I'd found seaglass that shone in the light like your eyes, so I had it woven into a bangle for you to wear, I didn't want to get you something too big or loose, since I know you hunt amongst the trees and I woduln't want it getting tangled on anything and you getting hurt." The molly added, almost sheepishly.
She had listened intently to Brightnose talk with glowing pride about her clan, especially before and after she was made a part of the sun guard. Coyoteclaw found admiration in her mate's utter love for her clan, and wanted desperately to give her something that was a delicate balance of Riverclan culture and manoeuvrable for a cat within Skyclan territory.
