She licked the water from her paws, sighing. Was this what her life was going to be? Waiting for her father to yell at her? Waiting for him to choose her future and her mate while she sat idly and let him do as he pleased? Her shoulders slumped. She wished it was not the case, but she wasn't sure how to stop it.

    the smallest of a litter of primarily toms, guppysplash was always coddled through her life as the runt of her litter and forced into a mould that she believes she does not fit into. her fur is short, sleek from swimming around the watered territory of riverclan and she has a small touch of vanity to her presence, wanting to keep her appearance lively and beautiful. she adores and revers beauty, wishing that her parents were not as insistent on her being a weaver, knowing her swimming skills could be used for pearl diving instead. her pelt is primarily black, with splotches of amber and orange. her paws, face, and stomach have a high volume of white and her eyes are a soft yellow-green. she has a small scar on her lip from a diving incident as an apprentice.

  • guppysplash is a gentle and selfless molly... to a fault. her entire being, mannerisms, attitudes, and appearance are soft, almost kitten-like to onlookers. while she has talent, she often felt like her family coddled her due to her size and her somewhat "ditzy" way of exploring the world. she almost seems to wander aimlessly, having trouble listening and having a bit of a scatterbrain even at the best of times. Despite this, guppysplash is almost the epitome of kindness, never saying a bad word about other cats and finding it quite easy to make friends.

    despite being a bit coddled by her mostly male family, guppysplash has faced a few difficulties in her life and has learned to be resilient and forgiving against most hardships that come her way. however, one of her biggest weaknesses is her kindness --- as she's a bit too trusting, especially of outsiders. she believes almost anyone on their word, and this has lead to some difficult. but this poor girl is much too forgiving when someone slights her. she still hasn't learned that sometimes the world can be cruel and unforgiving. she's sickeningly optimistic at the best of times, though, she does have plenty of insecurities hiding below the surface and often avoids discussing her true feelings about most events. she prefers remaining passive, as others have judged her for her optimism and forgiving nature in the past.

    she is beginning to grow a bit resentful of how passive she was raised to be and is starting to hate the role she was pushed into. she craves an escape, craves romance and excitement... but her family simply wants her to keep on weaving until her pawpads are brittle and old.

    Her parents were arranged, loveless, a business transaction for Minnowbite's family. Lilyheart was too polite to protest, trained not to scream --- even if every ounce of her being was telling her to run. She was young, having just passed her apprenticeship... he was a few moons older. She was a weaver, something the men in his family seemed to be in a fever over, even if he was a warrior. Nonetheless, they were mates now, and Lilyheart's parents seemed pleased... why shouldn't she be?

    When she was 16 moons, she had her first litter. Three kits, two were large, broad-shouldered toms. Minnowbite joked that they were real men's men, excited to see how they blossomed into warriors. The third, small, delicate, fur patterned with all sorts of splotches of colour. A molly, the spitting image of her mother. Minnowbite takes one look at her, scoffing and saying that she is a mere guppy in the ocean, she'll "know her place" soon enough. While it was mocking, Lilyheart actually has to admit, the name has a charm to it --- and her mate had picked it. She names the little calico Guppykit, alongside her larger siblings Eelkit and Whalekit,
    APPRENTICEHOOD
    AUG '24 - FEB '25 x
    Her father argues on her behalf, insists she should be apprenticed to a weaver. That girls have ALWAYS been weavers. Guppypaw had her eyes set on being a pearl diver, and she feels her future crumble as her father keeps arguing. Eventually, the choice is made for her, and she is apprenticed to a weaver. Her brother's puff out their chests proudly, having been apprenticed to warriors --- ready to serve their clan while their sister is stuck "on nest duty". This is only the start of their mocking, and their father and mother do nothing to assist her. She realizes at this time that her brothers will never be able to do any wrong in their father's eyes, and shrinks into herself, focusing on her duties.

    While it isn't what she wants to be doing, weaving has its perks and she's learned how to make cute and delicate things, decorating her own nest, her own being. Even if she isn't a "warrior", she is given minor battle training just in case... and her mentor is quick to notice her strong swimming skills --- wondering why her parents were so insistent on the molly being a weaver instead of using her skills to her advantage. When her mentor confronts her about this, she gets nervous, knowing her father will be upset if questioned. She goes on a dive at her mentor's request and purposely slams her jaw into some rocks, leading to a rather nasty scar. In her eyes, this was her "proving" she wasn't cut out for the life of a pearl diver.

    All that really happens, is she gets a one way trip to the medicine cat den --- as well as a permanent scar on her face by trying to follow her father's wishes. Shortly after this incident, her mother has a single kit litter, Pikekit, another tom. Guppypaw shrinks into herself again, knowing soon she'll have another brother old enough to tease her and rub their success in her face.
    WARRIORHOOD
    MAR '25 - PRESENT x
    She is given her warrior name at 13 moons, Guppysplash, for her strong swimming skills. Her brothers are also made warriors, and her parents seem to pay her little attention while they bask in the spotlight. However, after they get their share, a shift starts to happen. Whaleshadow and Eeltooth grow incredibly protective of her, remarking how her scar isn't befitting of her --- murmuring how she'll find a mate with that mark. Her father nods his approval at her brothers.

    In horror, Guppysplash realizes they're setting her up, looking for her mate prospects, ready to pair her up like her mother had been. She doesn't want this. More than anything, she wants freedom. She wants to be a pearl diver, she wants to choose her own path... and she wants to know what life is like outside of her clan walls.
