Tenebrouspaw is not the easiest apprentice. She can attest to the idea that she can be difficult sometimes. But she's not amoral or cruel - she's just... hot headed! And struggles with listening when the commands aren't conducive to her train of thought. Maybe there's a realm where she could take a deep breath and put more faith into Trembletuft. But that realm isn't this one and, in fact, the days bleed on where every ounce of trust and understanding she has ever given him has long since been drained. She runs on fumes at best and this moment - this inconsequential moment... is the final straw.

"No," she argues, and her voice pitches, rising in volume. Owlbark had just finished doling out patrols, and she made sure to attend the mass to listen to where her mentor would be sent. Almost immediately after the deputy sent them away, the tom finds her and says, "You're staying here." She was supposed to help patrol the SkyClan border! The by far most dangerous one yet! Comparatively, more injuries have happened there than... well, anywhere else. And it's not like Trembletuft seats her for her safety. She sees it in his eyes; he simply doesn't want the hassle that is her.

And so, she declines. And her dissent is only the start of a momentous explosion.

"No - you can't - you haven't taken me to the border in over a moon, Trembletuft!" She barks, claws digging into the cold soil beneath them. She thinks if she's allowed off of her leash, she may very well claw his face off. "You've not taken me out more than a pawful of times! Tenebrouspaw, clean the nursery. Tenebrouspaw, change out the nests. Tenebrouspaw, weed out the bad prey. You sent me out on a patrol with the fledgling apprentices where I had to relearn landmarks - landmarks! Trembletuft, I could chart this entire plot of land into your pelt if I wanted to!" The tortoiseshell apprentice gains on her mentor in a continued threatening matter, but all four paws remain on the ground.

"I'm tired of this! You'll have me cleaning out the dirt place until I'm older than the elders. I'll be Tenebrouspaw until I'm wheezing dust. StarClan - I hate you! I wish you would just die!"

"and this time, she won't be forgiving"
tempers flare at even the best of times... but with the pace that winter encroached upon them, patience was thinner than ever. mistakes couldn't be afforded... and infighting most especially made her skin crawl with apprehension. the moment the argument starts, she can feel it mounting to something bigger than just another petty spat. Owlbark was not so negligent as to sabotage an apprentice's training by failing to assign them to anything at all but Trembletuft.

Trembletuft who'd lost the will to endure a stubborn, young heart... that was the mistake. Tenebrouspaw, with no wisdom to lean upon, cannot help but snap her frustrations in broad daylight for everyone to hear. and they are not simple simmerings, they seethe with something closer to hate than dismay.

the chocolate molly makes her way as the final wish is declared and she too finds her patience flighty. "Tenebrouspaw... enough." her gaze sharply flicks towards the young cat's mentor, clearly agitated to have been drawn into this by repeated bickering. if he was unwilling to be the mentor that Tenebrouspaw needed, to shape her sharpness into something lethal to others rather than her clan... then so be it...

"It's clear the two of you are completely incompatible... you don't respect your mentor and he clearly has no love for you either. I won't suffer hearing another argument between you both." the spotted molly scours the onlookers who are unfortunate enough to witness this lack of synergy, searches her mind for the many mix of faces that have formed ThunderClan's finest. and then it clicks... a solution enough, potentially.

"Trembletuft, leave for your patrol." the sooner he leaves the equation of the conversation, the better.

"And you... we're going to give you a mentor that can keep tempo with you. I expect you to improve your attitude... since this benefits you- and if I have to hear you say something half so foul again you won't be getting a change that benefits you again. Where's Blisteringfury? Tell him he has work to do."

The patchwork tom had been prepared to leave for the patrol that he had been assigned to and yet the sudden uproar in camp is enough to cause his helm to snap in the direction of his daughter and her mentor, Trembletuft. A frown forming on his maw as he takes in the scene only to feel his blood beginning to boil and he's well aware that Tenebrouspaw's mentor has been holding her back but it seems that it had been enough to draw the attention of the oak forest queen herself. Both of his ears angling forward as he watches the scene unfold and she tells his daughter to hold her tongue only for her to dismiss the warrior entirely to go off on his patrol, Blisteringfury can't help but glare in the direction of the tom, and his snout wrinkled with disgust.

He had always known that Trembletuft would've been a poor excuse of a mentor though he isn't allowed to linger on these thoughts for long when his name leaves the jaws of the irritable leader that stands near his daughter and she addresses him. "I'm here, Loonstar." The patchwork tomcat says with a curt nod of his helm as he levels his emerald gaze in the direction of the chocolate tabby, "I will not let you down. I'll make sure that she's prepared and mindful of her tongue." Blisteringfury would make sure that his daughter is a force to be reckoned with, to not fling herself so recklessly into battle with lashings of her tongue, and make Loonstar recognize that he's a good enough warrior to mentor the youth.

Blisteringfury's gaze remains stoic and frigid as he slowly closes the space between himself and his child, there's not an ounce of gentleness within his gaze nor contempt, and he knows that he has a lot of work ahead of him but he could steer his daughter into the right path. "We shall not waste any time, we will begin our training right away." The mismatched tom says with a lash of his feathery tail behind him and his whiskers quiver hoping that Loonstar has faith in him to do good... that she will see his success and not his failure. He had too many of those and he didn't wish for them to continue building up.

"speech", thoughts, attacking
a longhaired tortoiseshell with several scars littering his body from the battle that broke out between the split colonies, a cruel reminder to the betrayal that he felt that day, and has a pair of emerald toned eyes. he has patches of ivory on his body along with more smoky gray spots near his cheeks, limbs, and tail.
parent of flickerdance, searingpaw, torridpaw, gutsypaw, and tenebrouspaw ; ex-mate of dunehusk and blacktree ; currently not interested in seeking out serious relationships or courting anyone

venom and sharpened words are normally thrown out from his jaws whenever he ends up on a patrol near shadowclan. this doesn't lessen in the slightest when he catches sight of his old flames either, if anything, he only feels angry and brandishes that anger as a weapon. the moggy isn't friendly to anyone outside of thunderclan and he's especially unkind to shadowclan.
