It was a bit of a shame that Blizzardblaze hadn't been able to take anyone he considered a close friend on his patrol, but Owlbark's orders were his to follow, and he was no cat to question those. Besides, it wasn't as if he didn't like the cats he'd been given; it was a good group, even if he felt that some of the silences dragged on in an uncomfortable fashion that probably wouldn't have been there in the first place if, for instance, Brindlefeather was here too. "I think this is your first patrol to another Clan's border as a warrior, right, Briarfox?" Blizzardblaze inquired of the recently-promoted tortoiseshell, casting a friendly glance towards Briarfox as they came within sight of WindClan's border. There was a powerful but muddled cat-scent along the frozen grasses here and he slowed well before running the risk of crossing, raising his dark tail to indicate that his patrol should be aware, too.
"Let's do this quickly. Owlbark asked us to bring some fresh-kill back, and the sooner we finish up here the sooner we can try our paws at hunting back home." Blizzardblaze paused before adding in casual tones, "And if you see any WindClanners, remember we have no quarrel with them. No harm in being polite." They didn't have many interactions, what with how far their Clans were from one another, but as far as he knew no bad blood existed between the forest-dwellers and the denizens of the moor. An antagonistic attitude was wholly unnecessary here. Without further comment, he continued on his way, padding briskly along the edge of ThunderClan's land and pausing here and there to brush his cheeks or press his paws against surfaces to scent-mark them.
Blizzardblaze could not decide if he hoped they would encounter a patrol of WindClanners or not. It was always interesting to meet cats from other Clans, and for that reason he found himself hoping they would; on the other paw, they did need to bring back prey, and the sun was already slinking towards the horizon...
