is it any wonder things get broke?
Briar's parents had been gone when he woke up his morning. Now, it's nothing unusual for Marsh and Canary to disappear and come back several days later, but today has been different. For one his parents always told them they'd be gone. They never said when they'd be back, but at least he knew that they're gone. And they haven't done it since his baby sister Wish had been born. He figures the best thing to do now is seeking out one of the clans, though he's not entirely sure if that's really what he is supposed to do. For now he's still waiting at his family's den because his littermate stormed off after a fight they had this morning. They usually don't fight and now he feels really bad about it. He regrets some of the things he said, though he supposes it's too late to go back now. He has waited as long as he dared, but his littermate still isn't back. He sighs. It's time to go. His littermate won't need his help to survive. At least that's what he hopes. It's another matter with his sister Wish. She's so small, so fragile. She hasn't even opened her eyes yet and still needs milk. As much as he wants to, he can't provide her with that. "Okay dear, time to go now." He says and gently picks her up by her scruff.
I'm so sorry, but I can't wait any longer for you. I have to make sure Wish is safe. He doesn't like any of this. He doesn't like leaving his littermate behind and he doesn't like asking for help, especially if the cats he asks are strangers. He doesn't know if they're trustworthy or reliable. The only adults he really knows are his parents and they're neither trustworthy nor reliable. He is the oldest of his siblings. It's his responsibility to keep them safe, to care for them, to make sure they have everything they need. He should be able to do this alone, but his sister needs something he simply can't provide. That's the only reason he seeks out the clans. He figured they wouldn't turn away a kit as young as his baby sister. He is going to start with the clan closest to him, Skyclan he thinks, and if they won't help he'll try the others. If neither of them want to help him…. Well, he'll cross that bridge when he gets there.
He stops at what he believes to be Skyclan's border. He wants them to help him, so it's probably for the best if he isn't trespassing. He gently places his sister on the ground and settles down next to her. Now he needs to wait for someone to come. Wish gets up on her paws and tries to walk. It's very wobbly and she quickly tumbles to the ground with a mewl. He chuckles slightly at her walking attempt, before gently pulling her closer with one of his paws. "Best stay close dear." He gently rasps a tongue over her head and begins grooming her to calm her and keep her close to him. He only stops when he notices another cat. He gets back up on his paws again, Wish still between his front paws. "Hello, I'm Briar. This is my little sister Wish." He introduces himself. "Our parents are gone and I… I can't take care of her alone. Can you help us?
