"Promise I'll come in regularly for my checkups, Swallowbreeze," the tom mewed, dipping his head to the medicine cat as he exited the den. "And I won't go off doing anything too stressful just yet!" He purred as the leaf-fall sun hit his fur, dappling with the rosette spots on his coat. Those patterns had earned him his former name, a name he still cherished, but it was no longer a name suited to his life. He'd returned, changed, alive but with that strange dip into a world that was not quite alive. He bore a new destiny, it seemed, than Acornheart did. And thanks to his father, he would honor that journey and sacrifice.

Cloudbearer stepped into camp, hardly limping at all now, and mewed his greetings to cats he recognized... and many he did not. It would take some time, learning all these new faces and names, but Cloudbearer was a determined tom.

He made his way over to the warrior's den - while he was finally no longer nest-bound, he reasoned he'd need somewhere to sleep when he was done with duties for the day, and it would be better to claim one now rather than later. The tom poked his head into the brush, meowing a greeting.

"Any open spots for a weary warrior to make his nest?" he asked.
OOC: A better intro for Cloudbearer, since he was unconscious the first time around. @SWALLOWBREEZE mention but not required to interact

Let me die, let me drown, lay my bones in the ground
I will still come around when the time for sleep is through
Over hill, over dale, through the valley and vale
Do not weep, do not wail, I am coming home to you

Teaselfeather watched with a slow blink of the eyes, their ears perked upward and a light tilt of the head. Acornheart-- No, Cloudbearer... Was a familiar face, but also one they had not expected back... The other had gone missing during the long journey here and... Honestly, a lot of people had expected that he was dead... But he was not... He was alive. And that alone called for celebration, Teaselfeather thought. A smile slowly curved upon their maw before they dipped their head respectfully as the other padded deeper into the warrior den.

Teaselfeather felt something tender twist in their chest. Once, Cloudbearer had known them as silent, a gentle shadow trailing after Flowercloud, speaking only with their eyes and their paws. To be here now, offering words instead of gestures, felt strangely monumental. Like stepping into new sunlight. They motioned again toward the empty nest beside their own, the moss faintly smelling of pine and lavender from where Teaselfeather had tucked herbs into the base, hoping the scent would be comforting.

" There's one here. " they repeated softly, mismatched hues warm. " It isn't special yet... But it was made for you. So you could come home to something. You can change anything you want, or... " Their breath fluttered, the faintest rasp of shyness brushing their words. " Or I can help you move it... If you'd rather be somewhere quieter. Or warmer. Or wherever feels right. " Teaselfeather shifted their paws, suddenly aware of how much they were saying, how much they wanted him to feel welcomed, truly welcomed.

They hesitated, then added, quieter still. " I'm... Glad you're alive. " Not dramatic. Not loud. Just honest. Their tail tip brushed the moss beside his nest, as if anchoring themselves. " It's good to have you home, Cloudbearer. "

Cloudbearer couldn't hide the surprise and delight on his face at Teaselfeather's words. Flowercloud had mentioned that her child had grown, that her family had changed since the journey's end, but to hear the soft-spoken warrior speak so kindly to him was soothing. This once-silent 'paw was now a warrior in their own right, and just as caring as he expected from one of Flowercloud's children.

"Thank you, Teaselfeather," he murmured, purring as he approached the nests. How kind of them, to offer the nest beside them, to scent it with calming herbs and soft moss. "I'd be honored to take my place beside you." To prove his point, he pressed his paws into the moss, kneading it to his liking. The lavender wafter around them, and he blinked slowly to Teaselfeather.

"I'm glad to be home," he mewed. "And I'm glad to see you doing well, Teaselfeather. It's an honor to meet the cat you've become."
