BRIGHTNOSE ──
skyclan | sun guard

Brightnose has certainly been active over the last several days, ever since her promotion to Sun Guard. It's a big responsibility… a very big responsibility. And while she's overjoyed that Hawkstar finds her worthy of such an important position within the Clan, it's made her restlessness go into overdrive and her anxiety work the graveyard shift. What if she's not doing enough? Or worse, doing too much? The last thing Brightnose wants is for Hawkstar to regret promoting her…

She almost goes to Quailstep with her worries, but she decides against it. She'd just been promoted alongside Brightnose, after all, and she's probably got her own long list of worries to go with it. But who else would listen? Who else could give the advice that Brightnose needs and say the comforting words she wants to hear? Upon scanning the camp, emerald eyes flicking from cat to cat, her gaze lands squarely upon one of the other Sun Guards. Duskpool. Of course, she thinks. He's one of the most experienced cats in the whole Clan.

Brightnose would be lying if she said she didn't see Duskpool as some kind of father figure. Her actual father was okay, but it feels impossible to talk to him when he hangs around her mother all the time. Even when they'd congratulated her on her promotion, she'd felt that cold, hollow gaze staring right through her; always through her. Never at her. At least Duskpool can be trusted to see Brightnose as an equal, or perhaps even as a friend.
She walks up to Duskpool with a look of determination, her steps light and graceful. She mustn't look hesitant, not here in camp, not now that she has a reputation to maintain.
"Duskpool," she greets him with a flick of her tail. "If you're not busy, would you mind accompanying me on a hunting trip through the territory? I'd really appreciate the help." Leaning closer, she glances side-to-side as she adds in a hushed voice: "I need to talk to you about something." She hopes he won't need any convincing, because she's practically ready to dash out of camp as it is, away from this feeling that everyone is watching her.
now i will tell you what i've done for you
