𖦹 Rosemarypaw isn't very good at hiding her pouting. She can go ahead and add that to the apparently way-too-long list of things she wasn't particularly good at, she thought bitterly to herself. It wasn't like Frogfuzz was a particularly stellar teacher herself though and it's not exactly fair to be judged against apprentices who probably had wayyyy better mentors that probably prepared them so much earlier and-

She was content with sitting in her little puddle of moping and solitude for the afternoon, but she got bored of shunning her sister by the time the sun crept toward the horizon. They found her as easily as they always did, which was a bet that was only half as successful nowadays compared to when they were smaller, and what was up with that by the way? Rosemarypaw halts in front of her and tilts her head with a deadpan widened stare, an invitation to start a staring-contest, not acknowledging the fact that they'd been halfheartedly trying to give her the cold shoulder the entirety of this afternoon.

Someone wins the staring contest, and more importantly, someone loses the staring contest. And Rosemarypaw plops down to sit with her twin. "So. La-ven-der-spring. Ya like it, or do you wanna ask Pikestar for a new one?" she rolls the name through her mouth with intention, knowing that she would be calling her Lav or Lavvie 99% of the time either way, so it made not a whisker of difference to her. Still, it was a nice name, she thought. Lavenderspring. She deserved it, for sure.

"Have you picked out your spot in the warrior's den yet, or...?" She asked, all casual-like. It wasn't like she was upset that she got to go and pick out her spot before the rest of any of the rest of her family like she thought she was better than them or something. It wasn't like Rosemarypaw was gonna be left all alone without her nest neighbor...! They didn't care about that. Obviously.

  • rosemarypaw- riverclan apprentice - 12 moons - she/they - a stout thick-furred blue molly with a white tail tip and blue/green eyes, near identical twin of lavenderspring

    - moody and terribly introverted, rosemarypaw holds herself in particularly low regards lately watching her siblings graduate before herself. she can be witty, and facetious, but keeps her feelings close to her chest. they can most often be seen in or near the water, and though their skills are unremarkable elsewhere, they are an excellent swimmer.

Lavenderspring shakes the loose water from her paws, her brief visit to the river threatening her with hypothermia at this rate. She almost doesn't notice as a body similar in size and shape leans to stand in front of her, eyes wide and unblinking. With great ease, she pauses her gait and holds that even stare as well as she can for being caught off guard. It only lasts a few moments, in before her paw reflexes a flick and she flings a droplet of water into her own face and, thus, loses the contest. "Fish-dung," she mutters under her breath as Rosemarypaw swings around her and plops down at her side.

For the drawn out syllables of her name, Lavenderspring wonders when the last time she had spoken to her twin was. Recently, surely, but she's gotten somehow busier now that her schedule isn't run by a mentor. Her lips press into a thin line as she wonders how intentional that's become - by Frostmoth's word or by Rosemarypaw's forced inaction.

"If I ask him for a new one, the whole Clan will be up in arms, and he'll lose another life," she murmurs, drawing a tongue over her still drying paw. She thinks on her name and continues with, "I like it. Anything longer and I think I would've taken a life for myself." Lavenderspring tilts her gaze to her sister, "You didn't want to be Rosemaryspring, did you? Pikestar would probably do it, if you asked." He seemed more keen on making individuals happy than the Clan at large... which is admirable. In a way.

"Barely," Lavenderspring continues. "There's hardly any good spots left in there. And I'm not cozying up to anyone just for a warm nest," amber eyes, of course, flicker into her mind briefly. Her tail thuds the ground and she shakes her head, "And I'm not nesting with Haze, or Lichen, or Smoke -" a brief wave of her paw, as if their list of parents go any further than that, "- I'm much too old to be coddled by any of them."
