Rattlepaw approached the border they shared with RiverClan in the middle of the night once more. What brought his paws here again so soon? He didn't quite know, perhaps because the stars seemed brighter when they reflected in the clear water of the river, making those lost seem closer than they did most nights. The night sky was so far away afterall but the river was something one could reach out and touch, making the stars seem reachable, embraceable even and Oh... How he longed for his mother's warm herb scented hug just one more time. To be allowed a proper goodbye, would it really have been enough? He would never know.

Maybe he was actually here just hoping to see some cat in particular? Maybe. Or perhaps the lapping water provided the perfect sound for some stargazing, and on a clear night like tonight? He couldn't pass up the chance to try and feel closer to home.

With all that had happened in ThunderClan recently the young apprentice had been feeling lost and alone. Wondering why things had turned out the way they had. A cold wind whispered it's way through his fur as he trekked down toward the river. At first watching the rippled reflection of the sparkling stars above as the water ran by before taking up a spot in the grass nearby the edge and rolling over onto his back, facing the endless night sky that glittered with so many stars he couldn't possibly hope to ever count fully. But he didn't need to count them all, he just wanted to know which two were Serpentberry and Thornstar.

Could they see him? From all the way up there? Were they okay where they were now? Were they together again now in death? He hoped so. It wasn't much but the thought brought him some comfort to know that they weren't alone and they had each other again but... "Why" Rattlepaw blinked slowly up at the stars through newly shedding tears as he called up to the endless blanket of darkness for answers he would never get. "Mama? Papa? Why did you leave?" Didn't StarClan know that he and his siblings still needed them? Why had they been taken away so soon? Oftentimes he wished StarClan had taken him with them, things would've been much easier then wouldn't it? At least then maybe things wouldn't of felt so alone. But he knew that wouldn't be what his parents wanted. What was the purpose? What was the reason he was still here and they both weren't? Could they give him a sign? A direction to follow? Anything.

"Can you hear me from all the way up there?" He knew he wouldn't ever be answered but he hoped they could hear him. "I love you" He choked out a soft but broken mew, only for the stars to hear. "I miss you"

Twinklepaw once again stayed up into the later hours, she found herself enjoying the peace and quiet that it offered her.

Rainpaw going missing was sad, nobody could deny this fact. Thunderpaw's outburst and subsequent fleeing made it worse. Did she not consider what doing that could cause? Now otheres were out there searching for both Rainpaw and Thunderpaw, and what of Galepaw? How did he feel? Did Thunderpaw not consider that?

'Whatever', Twinklepaw thought. Maybe Thunderpaw just needed time. Hopefully she wouldn't fester in hate like a certain someone else did.

At worst, Twinkle kind of saw Thunderpaw as... A bit of a brat sometimes especially given how she didn't treat Jinglemoon with any respect but she didn't deserve such turmoil. So, sadly, things had begun to sour in Riverclan again, and she hoped it wouldn't get any worse than that, but there was little she could do. She was always of the mind that if she knew she couldn't help, then it was best to step back.

Now, she just wanted to focus on making some progress for herself rather than for someone else's sake. To that end, she returned to practicing her secret weaving tricks by the river while everyone else was asleep. She was allowed to do so in silence until she heard a voice nearby, a familiar one now. "Hm?"

Twinklepaw stored her weaving items away inside a nearby log for later and followed the voice of one of her newest friends. She saw him on the other side of the river in the area between the borders. Checking for where to best cross the river, Twinklepaw found a small path of rocks that she could easily cross alongside some minimal swimming. Shaking herself off on the other side, she gently plodded along until she was sat nearby. "Hey, Rattlepaw." She looked up into the sky, tracking where he was looking, then back to him, noticing that he had just now been crying. "O-oh, uh. Sorry, is this a bad time?"
