"Ratfish."
The boy grumbled as he led ahead, chocolate paws wincing on hurt pads that had gotten torn up jumping over a gate. Of course he didn't realize that his smaller sibling had found another opening until too late. "Food? Hunger." He growled almost pitifully in a whine as he lifted a paw to point at the silver can, a wafter scent making his belly grumble to life.
Tick Tock and Ratfish were new to this world. The milk scent of their mother still trailed them, but her body was cold and long gone. Something they did not understand. The chocolate boy would pull himself to stand on the side of the trash can, a broken mew escaping him as his whiskers twitched. He'd drop down, moving in a circle, before leaning down. His butt raised in the air, before pushing off his legs and frantically reaching for the side of the metal can. Claws barely managed to catch hold, back legs scrambling as he finally got up there.
Pieces of plastic was dropped to the side out of it, empty containers of paper boxes, wrappings with sweet meat scent, empty except for the juices that clung to it. "Eat?" He asked for Rats opinion as he dropped the plastic (empty hot dog wrapper). His sibling always ate before him, it was something he learned, and he'd do what he needed to in what little survival instinct he had to get them to. Even if it was covering himself in rubbish and dirt. His ears twitched, before turning back into the can.
He kicked out a golden trinket( broken pocket watch), mentally groaning at the realization that... Well, his sibling was a little obsessed with treasure.
