WINDCLAN MEDICINE CAT DEN

x

The tunnel built into the camp's wall acts as a safe haven; away from the troubles of life, away from the chaos and all that it entails, one can leave behind their shield at the entrance and allow themselves to be taken care of. Any wind that does manage to enter is stripped of any sharpness, instead acting as a calm caress against for weary heads.

CURRENT MEDICINE CATS: DIMMINGSUN & MEADOWPAW

About the Medicine Cat, Dimmingsun
Dimmingsun is a large golden tom with one green eye.

Dimmingsun is as peculiar as his introduction to WindClan. Having been found by Meadowpaw at the brink of death and nursed back to health by her, he believe he has a debt to her that can never be truly paid off. Never once had he imagined that a group of cats would rely on his skills to heal, but he takes great pride in his work—mostly because it fills him with satisfaction to know that he can be the divide between life and death, often bordering on egotistical levels. This case is not helped by the fact that StarClan itself has welcomed him into the rank of a medicine cat.

His knowledge on medicine and healing comes from a life spent on the run; to survive on his own for so long, he has had to learn how to treat his own wounds. Despite often seen with a lazy smile, treating his Clanmates with patience and good humor, one thing is obvious: Dimmingsun has a dark, violent side that does not quite match the cheery personality he dons while applying poultices to your flank.

About the Medicine Cat Apprentice, Meadowpaw
Meadowpaw is a short-haired calico with green eyes. She sustained severe burns in the barn fire and is three-legged!

Meadowpaw pours every ounce of her heart into her role, following closely in her previous mentor's example. She takes her responsibilities seriously, treating each cat in her care with warmth and fairness. Another goal of hers is to ease the worries of those under her care. Healing is not only for wounds, but for hearts and she is just as ready to offer a listening ear as she is to offer treatment. She often hums softly while working, bringing flowers and kind words to patients whenever she can.

The grieving and the lost—living or dead—will find a companion in her.

Because of her gentle personality, Meadowpaw sometimes struggles with more difficult patients. While she would rather persuade them to accept treatment for their own good, her patience has its limits, especially when their stubbornness endangers their health or others. In that case, she is willing to stand her ground and will not hesitate to exercise what authority she has. If a quiet solution cannot be found, she isn't above asking for help from the patient's loved ones, her mentor, or even Dustystar herself.

DEN DESCRIPTION & RULES
Despite the fact that WindClan lacks proper dens due to their closeness with the open moors and the blanket of stars, those who are suffering get to enjoy sheltering within the medicine cat den. It is a tunnel above ground, covered in overgrown grass, heather, and all sorts of flowers that can typically be found on the sunny hills. Shade is prominent when one enters, but the tunnel opens into a scooped-out cave after just a few pawsteps, giving ample room for its inhabitants. Sometimes, the vegetation that covers the walls and roof of the den is adjusted to have a hole in it, allowing sunshine to peek through or rainwater to gather in a small dip. Herbs are carefully stored along the clefts of the far back wall. The soft, sandy ground of the den is raked through often, keeping the den clean and tidy.

Being in the medicine cat den means being in Dimmingsun and Meadowpaw's domain; if they tell you to do something, Dimmingsun expects their orders to be followed.

Visitors, family and friends alike, are generally allowed. This only changes when the den has too many patients, company does not remain on their best behavior, or infectious cases are present. Chit-chat is not turned away by Dimmingsun, especially on slower days.
Herbs are not to be touched or moved unless otherwise specified. Patrols that bring back medicine are required to dump their findings to the side so that it may be inspected first.
The den may not be entered if there are no medicine cats present. The only exception to this rule is if a patient has already settled in.

Dimmingsun is not responsible for further injuries or complications that arise from not listening to him.
Hurting or otherwise making Meadowpaw upset will immediately get you booted out of the den.

Please note that these stats are based on IC actions and will be improving (or even worsening) through roleplay!
Although the medicine cats' skills or lack thereof are realistically played out, lacking in a specific one will NOT lead to your character's death if you do not wish them to meet the end just yet! If you intend for your character to survive, you will not be punished for the medicine cats not being sufficient yet in something. We are happy to work with you to find a solution that makes sense.
The herb store's numbers can be added to if your character goes on a gathering patrol. Notify one of the medicine cats in their channel (#karmens-kitkats / #scarlets-attic) with proof of your rolled results!

Herb Patrols
Herbs are sorted into general usage groups and when needed, will be deducted from that group. Herb prompts for threads are always welcome! However, if the herbs are not rolled or screenshotted for in the medicine cat's channel, they will not be added.

Herb Patrols will roll a 1d8.

Upon finding a herb, add a +1 to the herb type.
At the change of seasons, roll 1d10 and deduct that amount of herbs on account of not being usable anymore (wilted, decayed, etc...)
