{$title} Jadethorn helps Wolfpack with his duties by organizing the patrols to the other clans!
There's only two types of people in the world

The ones that entertain, and the ones that observe

Soft pawsteps were made as the rosetted molly emerged from the nursery, tail swishing slowly to each side as Jadethorn made her way towards the center of camp. It almost felt strange, moving to stand where usually Wolfpack stood in front of the cedar of Sablestar's den. Almost. A part of her reveled in given the chance to control where her clanmates went. To have them follow her words like she was leader, herself. However, the opportunity was soured by the growing rumble of her stomach, and knowing that the fresh prey that she was teaching her children to eat was ever so slowly depleting with each colder day.

Carefully jumping onto one of the exposed roots of the white cedar, the night guard gave herself a much needed stretch before straightening and raising her crown to call out to the cats below her. "Shadowclan! It's time for patrols!" Jadethorn paused, watching for eyes and ears to turn their attention to her. She was sure she would get strange looks for taking over the deputy's job, which is why her next words hit the air as she settled her haunches onto the roots. "While Wolfpack ensures we all don't starve like we were back in the colony, he has asked me to put together groups to make sure our borders stay marked." A flick of her ear was given as her gaze scanned over her clanmates.

"Let's start with our closest neighbor." Toxic green landed on the stark white pelt of her leader's former apprentice. "Stoatstream, you will be leading the patrol to Windclan. Take Mothbite, and Snowdropheart with you. Careful crossing the thunderpath. We don't need another taken out by a monster..." Her tail lashed against the root she was settled on, glancing towards the nursery before her attention went back to the task at hand. The leader's former apprentice was sure to be a good choice, having met and interacted with Sablestar's family across the moors more than some others.

"Fleafire!" She looked towards her own former apprentice, the small stature surprisingly easy to find in the crowd after so many moons of it following behind her every step. "You will be leading the patrol to Skyclan's border. Take Belladonadance and..." A pause as she shifted to look for the recently ripped ear of the blue tabby. "Sealdawn. Make sure they know not to overstep their boundaries...and if they do..." Her eyes narrowed, the smallest of a smirk crawling onto her maw. "remind them of who was here first." Part of her hoped they would run into the cat who had injured the rosette. Then maybe they would get the chance to teach those 'code followers' a lesson in how the forest actually worked.

Next were the fish eaters, and she already had an idea for who to send there. "Mirepurr, you will be leading the patrol to Riverclan. There shouldn't be any issues there. They are a pile of shells, easily breakable. You can take Marbleshine and Snowbriar." A nod. She was sure Sablestar didn't want any extra trouble along the river, despite her thinking they were much to soft hearted to be a proper ally. At least they had seemed occupied with their inner workings. After all, one of their councils had taken their leader's life during the first gathering. They were not going to be any kind of threat to them for quite some time.

"Lastly... for Thunderclan." Jadethorn's lip rose, a growl growing in her throat as her tail lashed behind her and she stood back onto all four legs. "Bluegale will be leading us to our old friends across the thunderpath." The word was spat, venom dripping in sarcasm as she continued. "You and your sibling, Hollowmist, along with Viperhowl and Tickfrost, will be accompanying me and my kits. It's time they learn where the cat, who killed one of their fathers, hides." With those last words, the rosette molly took her leave from the cedar's roots. Pushing past the bodies of camp, the night guard made her way back to the nursery, where she could prepare her kits for the journey to the border. Maybe, if she was lucky, they would meet her dear snake across the tarmac and she could learn exactly who dared to take out the massive night guard...

    BORDER PATROLS ARE HERE~
To Windclan -> @Stoatstream (Lead), @Mothbite, & @Snowdropheart -> It seems the rain and flooding from the moors has caused oilly water to runoff from the thunderpath! It clings to your fur and makes things extra slippery. Be careful not to lose your footing as you cross!
To Skyclan -> @FLEAFIRE (Lead), @Belladonnadance & @Sealdawn -> Free For All Prompt! You may choose to have something happen or nothing!
To Riverclan -> @MIREPURR (Lead), @Marbleshine, & @Snowbriar -> The fish are extra active today. Some of them are even jumping out of the water and onto the shore! Is it stealing if they end up on the side closer to Fourtrees? Also, be mindful to not get hit by one!
To Thunderclan -> @bluegale (Lead), @Hollowmist, @viperhowl, & @Tickfrost along with Jade and her kits! -> Jadethorn has brought her 10 week old kits to the border in order to instill loyalty in them early on, by showing them where their father's final moments were. Does your character agree with this decision, or are they upset at having to help watch the rowdy children?

SOMETHING SACRED
HIDES IN EVERY DROP OF DEW

Another moon, another meeting. There was a certain monotony to it after so long, but then again, border patrols could on occasion result in some interesting interactions. She hadn't been on one in... A while. It was rare for Sablestar to go on one at all, which meant it was rare for her to do so, too. But at least now, as a warrior, maybe she would get to tag along to see some of their neighbours.

Though she had to silently wrinkle her nose as Jadethorn stood atop the roots and addressed the clan, like she had as much say as Sable or Wolf. But she had learn to shut her mouth, something a lot of cats still seemed to need to learn. She stared the molly down, trying to keep her expression as neutral as she could, facing a cat she held no respect for, but due to her own deafness had to give her some semblance of attention.

However, Stoatstream stiffened as she saw her name and green eyes affixed to her pelt; whether Jade was the one to organise these or was just passing along the decision from Wolf, she was still stunned hearing she was assigned her own patrol. It was small, but it was something. She gave a smile and nod in acceptance of her task, some sort of mixture of pride and nervousness welling in her chest. It had been hard earned, but it felt like she was reearning the trust of the council after the tail end of her apprentice being... Messy.

It was small steps, but she hoped she could build trust not just with the council, but even more so with Windclan. She knew they were already having a rough Leaffall; the storms across the way seemed awful, so maybe connecting with them to make sure their allies were okay would be a smart move. The ivory molly's tail beat against the ground, already considering what would be a good hour for her patrol.

She had to beam as she heard Fleafire also got her own patrol. How peculiar it felt to be warriors, both leading patrols when just a moment ago they were a pair of kittens catching frogs. Her heart ached for a moment, for a time when life was easier, but she had her clan to serve, and she was proud to do so. Though realising her sister was being sent to Skyclan made her press her lips back together, wincing a little. As the meeting ended, she turned to Fleafire and playfully nudged her. "Don't get in too much trouble without me, there's only so many times I can go on awkward patrols with Cicadabuzz." She whispered, glancing to the medicine den, she wasn't so sure how bug felt about her still, but she wasn't about to test the waters now.

She is distracted by both hunger and the dulling pain of the scratches on her face and shoulders in equal measure. Jadethorn makes a rare appearance outside of the nursery and it's only when she sits where Wolfpack often does to dole out patrols that Sealdawn blinks in surprise from where she sits just outside the warrior's den. What was Jadethorn up to now?

Some part of her can't bring herself to care, a memory resurfacing of the first time they'd all crossed paths with Shadowclan after the schism. She'd been naive then- unaware of the true reason they had splintered apart- and Jadethorn had made her displeasure known. Perhaps it was childish to still hold a dislike for the night guard...

Her name is called and Sealdawn straightens somewhat from her slouching, frown on her face. A patrol to Skyclan's borders? So soon after she'd been attacked? And with Fleafire leading the patrol it felt like less of a border patrol in her eyes and more of a scouting party of sorts.

Standing to make her way towards the cinnamon molly, a faint purr of amusement is teased out of her at Stoatstream's comment. "Flea'll have to keep ME out of trouble, clearly." The tabby jokingly gestures with a paw to her face, scratches still healing into what would almost certainly fade into a scar. The smile on her maw fades to something more serious. Far unlike her usual self. "We'll try to stay out of trouble, but that's up to Skyclan..."

She was not going to allow herself to be caught off guard a second time, she decided.

REPAY ME IN KIND

Bluegale prickles as he watches Jadethorn from a shaded part of camp where he had been sharing freshkill with his siblings. He had never been a particular fan of the saccharine night guard, tending to steer clear of her path, but with the recent advent of her mate's death it seems that she's become more... Bold. He crinkles his nose and mutters something about his disbelieving under his breath, but moves to sit with the rest of the clan and receive his assigned patrols nonetheless.

Bluegale can't stop himself from making a face when Jadethorn announces that he and Hollowmist are leading a patrol to ThunderClan. Any brief wondering he might have had about whether it had to do with Coalstrike's body being discovered by himself, Mirepurr, and Fleafire is quickly answered. "Oh great, I can't wait to escort a bunch of sniveling children to the site of their father's death," Bluegale huffs so that only Hollowmist can hear, though the irritated roll of his eyes is still openly expressed "Feels more like I'm being used to settle a score than go on a patrol." He rolls his shoulders slowly, trying to relieve the tension that has settled within them. Without thinking, his gaze wanders from the night guard to seek Sablestar. He's surely given Jadethorn permission to hand these out, but to take her kits too?

He chews the inside of his cheek. "I hope you don't expect me to lead a patrol with kits on it across the thunderpath," he calls to the night guard, tail lashing indignantly once "And none of us are going to be babysitting your children either." He isn't above crossing the border between ThunderClan and ShadowClan territories, but leading kits over the asphalt seems unnecessary at best and outright cruel at worst. There is already much to be said about taking them to where Coalstrike had bled out unceremoniously. Though he supposes it isn't his business, and it isn't like he cares much for any kits much anyhow. Bluegale sighs and turns back to Hollowmist before looking for Tickfrost and Viperhowl in the crowd. "We'll go first thing in the morning. Prepare yourselves for... Whatever this is going to be." Bluegale wishes that he had something more substantial to eat right about now.

Flamerunner blinked in mild surprise when, instead of Wolfpack, it was Jadethorn who stood tall and firm, barking out orders like she ran the place. From his spot in the shadows, he watched her with a flick of his tail tip. Well, look at that. Not leader. Not deputy. But apparently playing nice with two council members bought you some authority these days. He listened with half-lidded eyes, blue gaze narrowing, then softening with quiet relief when his name wasn't called for any patrol. Perfect. No duties. No responsibility. Just how he liked it.

Maybe he'd take a stroll along the borders, wander through the quieter parts of the territory. So long as he didn't cross them, it wasn't breaking any rules. Technicalities and all that. A lazy yawn split his muzzle before he caught sight of Bluegale, whose expression screamed irritation at the patrol assignment he'd been given. Flamerunner's whiskers twitched in amusement. He tipped his head and called out softly, voice just loud enough for the other tom to hear. " Shame you've gotta tiptoe the ThunderClan border with kits. " he murmured with a grin. " Better keep those eyes sharp, though. We've got plenty of young ones in Shadow right now, but I'd hate to see the count drop. " The teasing tone was there, but the worry behind it was genuine.

As his gaze drifted, it caught on Sealdawn and by extension, Fleafire. Both in the same patrol, headed toward SkyClan territory. He sighed quietly, tail flicking once. Fleafire and Sealdawn together wasn't bad… but heading toward SkyClan? That could get interesting. SkyClan had been walking a strange line lately, and Flamerunner couldn't shake the unease curling low in his chest.
