{$title} Prompt 43: y/c discovers something new about another cat & 63: interact with a kit
—— ✦ Eye in the Sun. You're all I see. Why won't you look at me? ✦ ——

Now, Leveretkit still had no recollection of where they were before the border. No matter how much Dewshine and the tortoiseshell (whom they learned was called Serpentberry) tried to pry information from them, there was nothing more to learn. If they didn't know better, they may have just popped into existence there on the side of the Thunderpath. But reality was, they didn't know. Maybe they need not to.

But now their realisation was that now assimilated into Thunderclan, strange suffix and all, they would need to actually learn this place. The customs and way of life intrigued them, but being so young, the best they could manage from the adults of the clan was a quick question until they were brushed away. They had already grown a frustration being so feeble, but being treated as much was far too much.

So, who else but those of their stature to turn to? As it turns out, Leveret wasn't the only kitten brought to the clan as of recently, but it was a collection of other tiny bodies brought under the wing of one of the very mollies who found them on the border. They seemed just as... Restless. But the youngling was curious what their reasoning for it was, and it wasn't as if these other kittens had anything to do but be coddled as doted on, as much as Leveret seldom saw Serpentberry remain in the nursery for long.

The one of the three that Leveret found seemed to be the most outspoken of the three, fur often bristled and a sharp tongue aimed at Serpentberry. That red-eyed scrap of fur found their paws wandering the camp, and came upon the just as small tortoiseshell, clearly distracted, though the scent of the non-medicine den-bound sibling was not far off.

Leveret approached the other kitten with a curious turn of the head. "Hello, Thornkit, if I remember correctly?" Of course, they remembered, but it was polite. "Are you and your littermates okay? I thought I would... Check in on you all?" Really, they were parroting the worried words of some of the warriors who passed by; they were more intrigued at Thornkit's thoughts on the clan, but a little small talk never killed anyone (though internally it felt like it was, Leveret learning rather fast the dreary sort of conversation grated on them easily).

  • Tagging @Thornkit to reply first but anyone can join after ! Yes i dont have a bingo card for leveret and im not intending on one but if im making a thread i may as well make it count for yalls bingos mwah

In a group of cats as big as ThunderClan, it was inevitable that there would be other kits around - what surprised Thornkit wasn't their presence, but rather, that it seemed that quite a few of them seemed to have come from outside of the Clan itself. It made Thornkit wonder if that was a habit of ThunderClan's, to go around, pulling kits away from their rightful parents, or if all the Clans were scavengers in that way, looking only to bolster their ranks to have power over the other. For as positively as his own mother had received the sight of Serpentberry on that fateful day when the medicine cat had taken them away, Thornkit was beginning to regard the Clans with a bitter distaste. He knew that even if he were to ask about it, any of the older Clan cats would frame it as them being charitable and taking in the needy - it didn't matter whether they believed that or not, just that they were loyal.

Having been forced out of the medicine cat's den again by his own restlessness, Thornkit was pacing nearby, ears flattened back against his head as he considered the past week or so and how it had all played out, leading up to this moment. Faithkit and Falsekit seemed like they were settling in better to the idea of remaining in ThunderClan for the foreseeable future, though it wasn't as if they had anywhere else to go. Their mother was dead, and though Thornkit had allowed some gratitude towards ThunderClan to settle within him seeing as Rowanpaw had brought her body back to be buried before it could be devoured by some beast, he didn't want to remain in this place once his sister had recovered. The problem then laid in what he was meant to do. He wouldn't leave his siblings, and for all of the hot air he had been full of when he'd spoken to Fawnkit, he certainly couldn't hunt or protect himself. It was as if he was doomed to be stuck in this place, under Serpentberry's watchful eye.

A scowl crossed Thornkit's face as approaching paws sounded, and he looked up to see another kit - this one with strange, red eyes - returning his gaze with something that wasn't quite sympathy, but was enough to set Thornkit on edge. He was silent as the kit spoke, and he pulled a face at hearing that Clan name he'd been given.

"Yeah, that's what they call me." He grunted, suspicion coloring his words as the other kit expressed concern over him and his siblings. "What's it to you? You think you can fix my sister up better than Serpentberry?" Thornkit smirked cruelly. He knew that this kit wasn't one of the medicine cats, given their age - as Fawnkit had said, kits weren't allowed an inch in this place - and the fact that he'd never seen them before hanging around Serpentberry or Rowanpaw or the medicine cat's den. They could be concerned all they'd like, but platitudes wasn't going to help Faithkit recover.
