is it any wonder things get broke?
He had been quiet on the way to Skyclan's camp, only speaking when he has been asked something. Mainly because he is the one to carry his little sister Wish, but also because the cats are strangers. He doesn't know if he can trust them or rely on them. It's not that he isn't relieved or grateful that Skyclan took them in. He truly is. If they didn't, he wouldn't have known what else to do. It's just that he doesn't know them and needs to get a feel for them first. He'll also need to adjust to clan life. He's not used to living with a group this large. Until today it had only been him, his siblings and his parents (though they don't really count in his eyes).

He stops for a moment to take everything in once he has entered the camp. It seems like a nice place. He really can imagine this place to be their home from now on. He is directed towards the nursery where the kits and caretakers sleep and told to speak with a caretaker named Snowveil. There's also an apprentice den (he assumes that this is what he will be considered), a warrior den, the leader's den and the medicine cat den. He's not sure what a medicine cat is or what they do, but they must be important if they get their own den. He wonders if he will have to sleep separate from his sister. So far he and his siblings always slept cuddled together. He is not used to sleeping on his own and he isn't quite willing to leave his sister at night. He already misses his littermate. If he could have waited any longer, he would've, but he has to think about Wish too. He hopes his littermate will be okay without him. Inside the nursery he sees a scarred black and silver molly. Perhaps this is Snowveil. He sets his sister gently between his paws, so that he can speak clearly. "Um, are you Snowveil? My name is Briar and this is my little sister Wish. We're new to Skyclan."

" For the love of-- don't climb that, I can hear you two! " came Snowveil's sharp call, her lynx point fur bristling slightly as her good ear gave a flick. She didn't bother turning fully, just angled her head slightly, tracking the familiar rustle of mischief through the nursery. Cinderkit and Almondkit were mischievous little things... But then she heard different pawsteps. New. Hesitant. Snowveil stilled, her nose twitching slightly as unfamiliar scents reached her. She blinked milky white eyes into the void, listening to the voice that followed. Briar, he said. And Wish.

She gave a soft sniff, ears pricking as she carefully rose to her paws. Every step was cautious, deliberate. Her paws moved with practiced grace, testing each shift in the bedding. Then, her whiskers brushed soft fur, Wish she believed.... Snowveil paused, letting the delicate tickle linger, letting the kit know she was there. " Wish. " she greeted softly, a small smile curling at the corners of her mouth. She leaned back slightly, head lifting as she listened to the boy's breathing. Strong, but young. He had said his name clearly enough. " And Briar. " she added gently, dipping her head in greeting. " Well then, you've found her. I'm Snowveil. Caregiver of this clan, alongside my good friend Milkheart. "

A breath puffed past her nose. Her whiskers quivered as she took in more of their scent. There was no trace of strangers on them, only her own clanmates. Alone. Just the two of them. " Well... " she murmured, moving a step closer. Her whiskers brushed over Briar's face, and then, without hesitation, she leaned down and gave the top of his head a soft rasp of her tongue, a gesture as old as the stars. " You must be hungry. " she said gently, tilting her head. " Your sister… can she eat prey yet? "
