Truly the Riverclan hadn't meant for the patrol to Skyclan to take this long, but life had its way with things. Maybe it was for the best that the patrol happened now than before. If it had happened sooner, perhaps they ran the risk of being caught in between the battle between SkyClan and ThunderClan. It would make things more complicated if Juniperstar had learned that Riverclan was there as well and ran off. They were not enemies and while they did have a Sunningrocks party.... His clan had mixed opinions on who they should align themselves with. Some wanted to side with SkyClan, not because of the code they knew, but because they viewed ThunderClan as bloodthirsty brutes. Others wanted to retain positive relations with ThunderClan because they haven't done anything to RiverClan. However, Pikestar knew that their relationship was held by a fragile thread. If they dared to look at the rocks for too long, then they would face Thunderclan's wrath. It was a complicated situation indeed.
A situation that would be dealt with later. Right now he looked rather silly with a flower crown sitting atop his head. It was significantly better than the one he presented Juniperstar many moons ago, but it still had ways to go before it could even hold a candle to the crowns the weavers made. Nevertheless, he was confident Flowercloud would like the gift. After all, she had expressed interest in weaving and RiverClan's fashion. If anything she would at least appreciate it until the flowers withered away. What she did with it next was for her to decide.
The journey to SkyClan's border was not difficult. What was difficult was the burning gaze from Galepaw. It did not help either that the boy had undergone a growth spurt. It was unsettling to have the apprentice loom over him. To make matters worse, Coyoteclaw had looked at the flower crown a couple of times on their journey. He was merely grateful that she remained silent. Although... It seemed like the molly was excited to go to SkyClan's borders for some reason. Littlebrook? He could feel disappointment dripping from a single glance. It certainly was a tough crowd to please, but for now all they could do was wait.
He turns to the patrol.

"Do you think they're doing better? I hope they have enough herbs for Leafbare."
