FAITHKIT

A BOUQUET OF BRAMBLES
SHE/HERx THUNDERCLAN KITx 03 MOONS
☆ A sickly fawn cream tortoiseshell with low white

The nursery is awfully looming, while it no longer doubles in size since you first looked at it and it no longer swirls with growing nausea; you had to say that you're not impressed with it still. You try to stay away from the structure while you can, not wanting to be anywhere near Hazykit much less on her territory so to speak. You know though that time is against you, your breathing has become steadier ironically since your scuffle with her. The last dredges of persistent illness whittled away, soon you would be given to the paws of a caretaker alongside your littermates. You hated the idea of your first real experience inside of this natural prison being alongside another strange face to look after you.

Today you decided that your first real impression would be your own. Squeezing past your littermates was no issue, both of them interested in their own activities or otherwise occupied by other clanmates for better or for worst. You ignore how it squeezes your heart, the possessiveness of a clingy sister claws at your soul and seethes at the distance. Your body doesn't listen to the spirit and your mind has felt useless of late so it didn't get the invitation to decide on what you should be doing. "Echokit" you call gravelly, squinting at the kit you often see squabbling with Thornkit. Ideally there could be better options but you unfortunately don't know many of the kits in ThunderClan. An unfortunate side effect of your moon of sickness within these walls, you hold your forming frown tight. Instead forcing yourself to nod your head amicably in greeting, pausing with the expectation to be chased off.

When that doesn't happen you will yourself forward so you didn't have to raise your voice. Though it meant getting closer to the nursery entrance, you could live with that. "Can you.. Show me around the nursery" In truth you doubt there's much to really see. Though you figured the invitation to spend time with another felt time well spent, shifting your weight from front to hind paws you huff warm air out from your nostrils. "Please" it's added hastily, tail twitching in annoyance at yourself for forgetting your manners.

Please wait for @Echokit.

At first it was actually comforting to Echokit that his parents had just up and left. It meant they wouldn't be coming into the nursery to scoop up Echokit and his littermates, bring them out into the camp and dispense some lunacy disguised as wisdom upon them. Finally, some room to breathe, some time to actually relax and just be... Well, outside of Victorykit being Victorykit every now and then. At least it was manageable.

But there was one other thing that brought down the mood for Echokit, that insufferable Thornkit was to be here now as well, and that made Echokit swing back into seeing the nursery as a loathsome place more often. At the very least Falsekit wasn't nearly as aggravating, they were just a bit strange in Echokit's eyes- kind of like Frecklekit, his other littermate.

Strangely, the other one, Faithkit, wasn't here yet. Echokit understood that she was sickly, and that altercation with Hazykit probably did her no favors either. Echokit didn't know Hazykit very well to be fair, but he didn't understand why she lashed out at Faithkit.

Speaking of, that very cat had now appeared at the nursery!
"Hwuh?"
Echokit turns towards the unfamiliar voice... Speaking his name. That alone felt so weird to him. He was far more used to his own kin bothering to say his name. He looked at Faithkit almost as if she wasn't even real, and blinked a few times.
"... Hi?"
Was the best he could manage while she was just staring at him. He felt no need nor desire to chase her off, and even if he did, he was too dumbfounded by being spoken to to bother.

Echokit's jaw almost dropped when she asked him to show him around the nursery. Really? Him? He looked around, and nobody else seemed to be here or otherwise aware of what was happening. Though hastily added at the end, Faithkit even said please. That was more manners from almost anyone that Echokit would ever be used to expecting.
"Uh... Yeah, sure, Faithkit. I can do that."
He moved aside, turned back towards the nursery proper and moved forward, but made sure Faithkit was able to follow.

"Hello" you murmur with no warmth, but no coolness either. A somewhat pleasant neutrality, though the pair of you seem to be a little wary of the other. Your head grows heavy, feeling confusion weigh it down you're inclined to tilt it to the side. Staring at Echokit inquisitively, faux brows raising as you search the tortie for any signs of declining your request. You would prefer to figure that out before he told you, it felt less humiliating that way. Though to your pleasant surprise he agrees. Thankfully so, you find it hard to fixate on anothers face and retain it to memory. "Thank you" the idea of reading a face for quirks regarding lies just felt like too monumental of a task, brushing away that particular downfall of yours, you instead focus on the good news. "So many nests" you comment with a quiet awe as you peer into the nursery following Echokit's lead.

Glancing over to the older kit by your side you search beyond him, towards the nests behind him which too seemed endless. "Which nest is yours?" Does everyone get their own nest or do they have to share? Some of the cats here seemed too large to be just kittens, surely they would get their own nest right? Walking between the nests around you with a paranoia of tripping over one, you'd like to think it might make you look prim and proper as you walk. Though in reality there is an anxious hunch to you and you find yourself drawn closer to stick behind or beside your personal guide whenever possible. "Is there anything to do in here?" Your voice finds you again after a stretch of contemplative silence.

There wasn't much for entertainment in your current den you call home either. This was a place where primarily kits reside though right? Surely they must do something in here, if your glamourised dreams and wild thoughts had anything to say about it, yes! Kits in your mind were surrounded with endless fun, something you had found envious for the moon you had resided in ThunderClan. Right now though, it all seems rather plain and that made you feel like a fool for being upset about missing out so far.

Echokit walked alongside Faithkit and nodded at her assessment as to the amount of nests.
"There's been more before, and also less. It changes a fair bit, or so I've heard."
He would have said 'been told' but he doesn't really get told much in his experience unless it was his parents and their latest nauseating lesson in the past.

"Hm? Mine?"
Echokit gestured over to a cozy little corner, a nest lifted up on a small mound of earth off to the side- notably moved on purpose to be slightly away from the others but not so far that it was totally separate.
"That's it there. My littermates' nests are just beside it."

"All of the bigger nests are for Caregivers, Queens, Den-dads and such, you'll get to know them soon. They'll be responsible for looking after us."
Echokit looked over to Faithkit with a hint of concern, she had lost parents in rapid succession, and while Echokit had absolutely no love for his own he knew other cats might have love for theirs.
"I know that... Might be a lot for you right now, but you'll be okay."
He said, trying his best to be some approximation of comforting even if it was clear he wasn't used to trying.

As for things to do in here, Echokit hummed in thought.
"Some like to play games here, but I like listening to the stories the caregivers tell."
