Just as sundown has begun to change the sky's color to a golden hue, Brightnose finally returns to camp, her freshly-caught prey still clamped between her jaws. She sets it down upon the pile delicately, retreating to the edge of camp with a morsel of her own to gulp down before she heads over to the nursery where she's certain Skykit is waiting.

It had been early that same day that Brightnose had overheard the kitten's conversation with Hawkstar, her wishes to become an apprentice early and to begin learning the ways of a warrior. Of course she was not granted such a request, as it is strictly against the warrior code, but Brightnose does sympathize with her desire to begin learning right away; it's the least the silver tabby could do to make sure Skykit enters apprenticehood with the knowledge she needs to truly excel. It would be unwise to snuff out that flame of ambition within her, and she is sure Hawkstar would agree with that much, at least.

Once done with her meal, she pads quickly over to the nursery - the days are short this time of year, and she doesn't want to keep the kit awake past nightfall. Peeking her head in through the entrance, she scans the many forms of kits and queens for the one she's looking for.
"Skykit, I'm back!" she calls. "Ready to learn?" It's a rhetorical question, really. If Skykit is anywhere near as excited as she had been when Brightnose originally proposed her idea, then she knows the kitten will be bounding right up to her, eager to begin.
