Snowdropheart
But the weight of the world won't bend my knees
.
Snowdropheart had not expected to be picked to lead a patrol, but maybe she was just being too harsh on herself. If Mirepurr saw something in her, then she was going to do everything in her power to prove them right. She led the trappers through the territory, looking for any herbs to refill Magpiepaw's stock - the young medicine cat had his paws full now that he was alone and Snowdropheart was determined to help out in any way she could. Whether that was bringing back prey or food, or, if they got lucky, maybe even both - either way, she wished to do well. A faint sound of water splashing reached her ears - was that just the breeze or a bird walking along the shoreline? Snowdropheart lowered her body as she stalked towards the pool of murky water; and sure enough, the reeds parted to reveal a sora bird parading through the shallow water.
With the rest of her patrol close behind, she stalked towards the bird silently. Before her paws could reach the water, she pounced with her paws outstreched, wrapping her claws around the bird's neck - flawless execution as the bird fell towards the water soundlessly, having no time to even react. Satisfied, she turned back towards her patrol, ready to continue.
But her gaze stopped, looking at something in the distance - a herd of deer, stretching from one side of the path to the other, some even standing in the water. There was no way to go around them, nor was there a chance she was going to make her patrol turn around - they had barely just started! The pale molly signaled with her tail for the trappers to stop, while she thought of their next steps.
"Okay everyone," she whispered, loud enough for the others to hear her, but not loud enough for the deer to notice. "I think we should sneak past them - but be careful not to startle them! These are big creatures and, though not predators, they can be dangerous simply due to their size." The molly licked her lips as she pondered her next words. "Let's split into pairs or groups of three - that way there's a smaller chance of startling the deer. And if we accidentally do, at least..." her voice grew quieter for a moment. "Well, at least we won't all be in the path of their hooves."
She looked through the trappers listening to her and landed on a friendly face. "I'll go with Tickfrost."
// Rolled a 9 for prey // Didn't roll for stealth yet, but will in my next reply // Didn't roll for herbs
OOC: Snowdropheart is to lead TRAPPERS through the territory, looking for dandelion, marigold, goldenrod, or borage. Roll a 1d2. On a 2 you are successful, roll 1d4 to determine which herb you find.
A herd of deer blocks your way... roll a 1d20 to see if you can sneak past without scaring them; 13+ is a pass! Each member must pass this check or the herd starts moving which can become dangerous.
As for hunting, roll a 1d10, on a 9 or 10 you're successful!
To make it fair, each participant can roll either for herbs or for hunting per reply, not both!
