Briarpaw wasn't the kind of cat who was known for having "friends." At least, not for having many of them. He was kind of a loner, and it was painfully obvious to everyone that his desperation for his parents approval had practically demolished any relationship between him and his siblings. He still enjoyed company, however. Therefore, when Grizzlypaw had invited him on an evening hunt, he gladly took the opportunity.

Grizzlypaw was probably the closest to what he would consider a friend- he enjoyed the other tom's kindness and willingness to include the quiet apprentice. At first, he'd been suspicious of Grizzlypaw's offers to hang out, thinking the tom was trying to tease him or lure him into some sort of embarrassing trap. After a few of their hangouts, however, Briarpaw had felt himself loosen up a bit. He was still always a little wary - it would be hard to break that feeling from his core being - but the nervous voice in his head was much quieter when they were together.

Plus, as they've hung out more and more, they'd taken bigger and bigger risks. And while Grizzlypurr was far more adventurous than Briarpaw... he loved the thrill.

"What's the plan tonight?" he asked, falling into step beside Grizzlypaw. "I know you said hunting, but it's definitely not just that, right?"
