Magnoliapeak isn't sure what has possessed her, but she's already up here. It had been a typical successful hunting patrol; the prey had been drawn out perhaps by some combination of nice weather and preparation for the hibernation months ahead. They'd nearly made it back to the edges of the ravine when the angry cries of a thrush overhead had snatched Magnoliapeak's attention. On a branch with a height that nestled it perfectly among the foliage she spots a nest, and though she's not typically easily goaded into dares the success from this patrol has sparked a good mood in the warrior.
The dilute tortoiseshell scales the trunk easily, dodging a few swoops from the angry bird as it shrieks and dives at her. She only recoils once, knowing that any major dodge would result in her losing her grip and plummeting to the unforgiving roots below. Magnoliapeak reaches the nest easily, and is satisfied to find unhatched eggs inside. They are a brilliant turquoise shade with speckles of brown all over. Temptation overcomes the warrior. Despite the screeching of the thrush as it swoops and dives and panics in unpredictable patterns around her, she pokes at the eggs before grasping one delicately between her jaws.
She manages to fit two in her mouth, though likely making herself look like an over encumbered squirrel in the process, and pulls back to begin her descent back to the ground when the thrush dives on her again. Magnoliapeak hisses around her mouthful of shell as the bird crashes into her. The light creature does not do much to push her, but it does slightly unbalance Magnoliapeak who becomes suddenly aware of how high up she is compared to her clanmates who are still on the floor below.
