Stay away from that land. And what does she do? She returns, again and again.
It is as if begging for something to happen, as if begging for Juniperstar to brandish that tongue and become harsher, sturdier. To become a leader that they don't have to worry about anymore - or at least to the extent that they each do now. And if not for Juniperstar, then she plagues the strip of land for her deceased predecessor, as if Thornstar himself will drop from the heavens to halt her on her stroll to temp injury and death. He does not show himself, the stars in the corners of her vision ever distant and useless. She wonders if her hopes for a sharper Juniperstar are just as wasteful of a want.
A blur of soft, soil patterned fur draws her attention away from the thunderpath. The medicine cat turns to see Jade, a molly she doesn't necessarily miss, though she now realizes how long its been since she's had a catty mental spar worth nothing more than the breath wasted.
"Oh, my darling gem! Long time no see," she cheers, still so obviously standing on the stolen stretch of land. "I'd ask if everything is going well for you - but look at you. Still as thin as a twig, I see... Not eating well?"
