Fleafire flexed her paws, trying to stir up the blood and put some feeling back into them. It'd been a few weeks since she was released from her prison. By the time they finally set her free from the medicine den, leaf-bare was in swing.
The wounds she crawled home with had closed, but there was still a lingering soreness in her ribs. The raw-looking scars tugged stiffly whenever she moved. Fleafire was proud of how she earned them, but those weeks cooped up with Cicadabuzz and Magpiepaw had been a nightmare. She got through most of it by sleeping, but she still couldn't shake the feeling of bugs disgusting paws smearing herbs over her flesh.
Since then, Fleafire went back to her own nest, but sometimes she still woke up sometimes thinking she was lying in the med-den. But lately, she was spending more time outside the territory, making up for lost time. A lot of the time, that meant sleeping outside of camp.
Viperhowl's steps kept in beat with her own. Like most of the Clan, he looked thinner, almost as thin as she did. Skin startin' to hanging loose over bone, cages poking out from his side, eyes sunken with hunger.
Fleafire could at least say she had eaten well while recovering, thanks to Stoatstream, Tickfrost, and Viperhowl. They shared what little they had with her, but that was all the more reason she needed to make it up to them and to ShadowClan. Coalstrike and Froststorm told her as much too...
The wind lashed across her muzzle, clustered marsh opening into the stretch across the thunderpath, then onto the Twolegplace. A plume of breath spilled from her nose, dissipating into the cold. "Fuck, I'm starvinggggg." She huffed, fighting through another wave of stomach cramps. "It wasn't this bad last leaf-bare." There weren't that many field-trips into the twoleg place then, not that she knew of anyway.
The ground crunched firmer beneath their paws as they neared the outskirts. Jagged fences clawed up from the fog, the scents of filth, dogs, and monsters thick on the breeze. Their tandem steps slowed to a halt, and she turned to him. "We oughta split up to cover more ground. Dunno about you, but I'm not in the mood to deal with Sablestar's pissy mood swings if we don't find anything." > The tuxedo was extra irritable, especially after the last meeting. He was missing Wolfpack she figured, but he had a funny way of showin' it. Coalstrike would've leapt in front of another truck for Sablestar, but Fleafire wasn't about to do the same. Every time she headed out, she hoped they might run into Wolfpack. She couldn't swallow the idea of him just up and leaving them or his kits. Fleafire knew that in her bones, but no one was in the mood to question it, and for now, she couldn't afford to. Jadethorn was alone, having to raise a bunch of now apprentices, one of which was hers to train. She had a part to play, but Fleafire still hoped Wolfpack might pop up one of these days. If that ever happened, she would kick his ass like she always wanted to and drag him back to ShadowClan by his tail.
She narrowed her eyes down an alley cluttered with garbage. "You can take this side, but if you find somethin' you better not eat it all." Fleafire rasps with a rough nudge to the shoulder, a smirk curling on her muzzle.

Fleapaw values family the most with survival at a close second. In conversations, she is blunt, fun-loving, and clever. She is guided by her desires which often leads her astray. Despite her abrasive personality, she cares deeply for those she loves and will do anything to protect them. Due to her experiences, Fleapaw is corrupt and has minimalistic, if any, morals. She does not care for the warrior code and its restraints. Neither does she believe in StarClan. Growing up in a kitten mill, being separated from her mother, and ending up on the streets have deeply affected her view of the world.
