The apprentice stifled a light-hearted chuckle. It was inevitable for a kitten to stumble, but Fawnkit didn't need her spirit to be broken when she was trying so hard.
"That'ths a good sthtart!" He smiled warmly, tilting his head to peer at her, worried a little if she might have hurt herself in her tumble, but it seemed the only thing injured was her pride.
"I wisth it was that easthy, but you just gotta practice." He chuckled, sheepishly, standing as he continued to talk.
"There'ths a lot to sthee, and it'ths sthuper hard to focusth, but when you grow, you truthst your insthincths more." Boarpaw crinkled his expression slightly. It was always so much harder to verbally explain things when he tripped over his own words. he had been taught to love everything about himself, but these tusks were more than annoying to deal with some days.
But, as he looked around, his expression froze a little as Serpentberry nudged her kittens towards him, four tiny eyes staring up at him.
"O-oh, okay! Y-yeah I can sthow them all together." The apprentice tried to stay steadfast, but he was very suddenly outnumbered by kittens, a daunting thing. They were so small and new to the clan, and he trusted himself to be careful, but the nervousness of tripping over a tiny little kitten raced through his mind. Thornkit peered up at him, staring incredulously.
"Oh! We're practisthing sthtalking, it's good for anyone to learn, even kittens." He smiled, stepping back a little to motion to the debris field. It was Webpaw coming to investigate that seemed to strike the attention of the kittens.
"Oh! A competition, that'ths a great idea Webpaw!" At that, Faithkit piped up too; she seemed to have been the most sickly of the three, so her chipping in did make the apprentice beam.
"You can all have a try, let me just..." His voice trailed off, trying to decide how to make the whole thing more interesting to a bunch of kittens...
Though it seemed his gaggle of apprentices his own had earned the interest of more of his clanmates, Boarpaw froze a little, but his face moulded in pride as Hazelheart praised them all. Maybe he was good at this whole teaching thing? His tail absently thumped behind him, especially as Flickerpaw and Cinderpaw decided to help too. Suddenly, the bundle of kittens seemed all the more manageable.
Falsekit chipped in too, rules... Rules!
"Right! Uhm. Okay, everyone listhen!" Boarpaw stood suddenly, speaking above the rest of the suddenly formed crowd.
"Thisth is how it'ths gonna go!" Boarpaw marched to the edge of the camp, where some fallen branches had ended up in the quarry, grabbed them and brought them back to the area they had ended up. He would clean it all later; he had taken to brushing up the campgrounds with a good big stick so he wouldn't get stabbed in the paws.
With his tusks, he easily stripped the branch of twigs and leaves, scattering them to make a patch of the camp where one wrong step would make a rustling noise.
"This is like the territory! Mesthy, full of leavesth and full of biiiig bad wolves." Boarpaw rejoined the group, satisfied that everything was adequately messy.
"Now, I sthowed Fawn, but you have to sthtay low, and watch your sthurroundings not to make any noise." Just as he had once before, he carefully stepped through the debris field, even with such huge paws and not particularly elegant seeming, Boarpaw had grown adept in his stalking training as a ranger. It took him barely any time to reach the end, but his larger strides made it far quicker than it'd take the kittens.
"Now, remember the wolves I mentioned?" He cocked his head as he sat down with a huff.
"I'm the big bad wolf!" He grinned, showing his tusks, before remembering this was a kitten competition.
" Or, uh- for the game, that is!" The apprentice chuckled sheepishly.
He then flopped on the ground, eye level with the kitten.
"Now, all you've gotta do is get across without the big bad wolf seeing or hearing you! Cause-" He stuck out his tongue for a second, looking around, before his sight fell on a blue feather nearby. He reached out and snatched it up, placing it in front of him.
"You're stealing the wolf's prey! So if you make any noise and wake him up and he sees you uhh-" He looked up to the other apprentices with a grin.
"Then the other wolves will get you!" Boarpaw bounded up, crouching playfully. It was part game, part competition and some small part life lesson. It wasn't like they would steal from a wolf in their apprenticeship, but knowing how to sneak away during danger would serve them well.
"Well, are you all ready?" The tom hummed, settling back where he lay and closing his eyes.

SUPER late reply, but guess what losers y'all are stuck in a MINIGAME!!!!!! WITH A PRIZE :O
Rules are as Boar said, sneak through the leaves and make no sound, if you do and you're still moving then you're OUT!!
To not make any noise you gotta roll above a 12 on a d20 twice! Once to cross and again to get back with the feather.
If you roll below a 12, then we both roll a d20 and if I get a higher roll then you are OUT!
The prize is one (1) feather for your little guy's inventory cause I love the addition, several people can win so this is NOT a [i gotta kick someone to win] this is an opportunity for your little guy to get a fun little headstart on their training and a fun little game :3 (Prizes are only for the kittens, or I will go broke, but apprentices or warriors can join if they REALLY want)
Tagging: @Fawnkit @Thornkit @FALSEKIT @Faithkit @Cinderstep @Webpaw @FLICKERDANCE but anyone else can join me reviving this thread cause it took me forever to get back to this FGHJKL but, remember, this happened september 10th, so keep it in mind when interacting!
