BRIGHTNOSE ──
skyclan | warrior

Brightnose has been restless, to say the least, from having to wait around for her paw to heal before she can get back to pulling her usual amount of weight as a SkyClan warrior. She didn't regret joining the fight at the ThunderClan border by any means, but it's still incredibly annoying to have to avoid her wound reopening from using her paw too much, especially when her hunting skills are needed to prepare for leaf-bare…
Regardless, Brightnose was out in the territory now, half-limping around just to get some fresh air for a while. She values her solitude, and while she enjoys time with her Clanmates, sometimes she just needs a break. She'll just go to the RiverClan border for a drink of water, maybe look for some moss or herbs to make up for those that Swallowbreeze had used for Brightnose's wound, and then she'll go back to camp. Just a quick back and forth, or so she thought.

When she arrives at the border, she's a bit surprised to find a lone RiverClanner already at the river, leaning down to drink from the sparkling, crisp water. Brightnose stops, watching the other she-cat from the treeline - and the longer she looks, the more she can feel something stirring within her that makes her heart flutter and her ears burn.
Perhaps it's just the way that the sun makes this RiverClanner's sleek, cinnamon fur glisten in a way Brightnose has never seen before. Maybe it's the way her tail idly swishes, a brillant white plume that mesmerizes Brightnose, green eyes following it back and forth. Why did she come here again? Does it matter? This is quite possibly the most beautiful cat that Brightnose has ever seen.

But, as it often does for her, panic begins to set in when Brightnose considers approaching the other cat. She suddenly feels very small, and the back of her throat is dry. Oh, right. Water, she remembers suddenly. I came here for, um… water.
She feels more nervous than a skittering field mouse, but she wills herself to pad forward, trying not to make her limp look weird. How a limp can look 'weird', she's not sure, but if there was ever a time that she'd make it so then she doesn't want it to be now. Maintaining a reasonable distance from the cat across the river, she sits near the edge of the bank where its current is slower. She flicks her tail in simple greeting while trying not to stare. StarClan, please don't let me look dumb right now, she thinks in silent prayer.

"Looks like somecat had the same idea as me," she mews, trying to make her smile the most polite it's ever been. Her heart threatens to leap from her chest when she steals another glance at the RiverClan beauty; she's even prettier up close. Brightnose leans down to lap up some of the cold river water before her ears turn red with infatuation, and its chill is at least somewhat grounding.
"Are you on patrol?" she asks; she can't see anycat else with her. Please say no, she thinks. She wants to talk to this cat, to learn her name, anything. Somehow, her thoughts of restlessness and leaf-bare and ThunderClan feel like nothing but distant memories now…

An absent yawn parted the chimaera's maw; her day hadn't been particularly arduous, but the monotony had begun to wear at the molly. Stilldream is nearly impossible to get in contact with; her apprentice is nearly ready to graduate. There was nothing new to drive her dreary days to something more interesting. The gathering had been somewhat of a chance of pace, even if this time around it was actually peaceful, even pleasant to participate in.

Even so, the molly trudged to the river; her hunting on dry land had been fruitless, leaffall taking its toll on the land. A pause to rehydrate and recuperate herself before returning to the hunt may improve the day, just a little. Dipping her head to drink from the cool, crisp river, water whisking away the warmth from her maw, even over the sound of the running water, something caught her attention.

She dragged her gaze up first, through half-lidded eyes, and she noticed a silver molly, unfamiliar to her. Coyote couldn't catch her scent as she feigned ignorance of the approaching cat, drinking her fill first and foremost. The molly seemed... Stiff. Something about her movement was off, and the warrior couldn't quite tell what. So, rather than drawing on the facade any longer, she finally rose from the river as amber eyes met emerald.

And, well, she was stunned. A sleek, furred, gentle-eyed beauty stood before her; it was no wonder her approach seemed off, with a bandaged leg; it seemed as if something had gone awry for her. For the heartbeat of a moment as their eyes caught one another, as the other breathed to speak, Coyoteclaw caught her scent, Skyclan.

She had never personally had a poor experience with the clan; there had been some tensions in the past, yes, but she hadn't been ignorant of Pikestar and the Skyclan deputy spending most of the gathering talking, so perhaps clan connections had been resolved somewhat. The molly spoke gently and warmly, albeit clearly trying to muffle some sort of- Ah. The thought crossed Coyote's mind absently, but watching her eyes flicker about and try to hide her flustered state, the Riverclan molly had to chuckle warmly.

"Relax, sweetheart, it's j'st me out here." She smiled, tail swaying absently behind her, head cocking to the side playfully. "I ain't see you 'round, though, who's the lovely molly I've the pleasure've meetin'?" Maybe Starclan heard her lamentations; she wasn't one to be so bold, but maybe she was just the change of pace Coyote needed.

She had already found herself frankly infatuated; she wasn't just lovely on the eyes but gently spoken and wore her heart on her sleeve; anyone could see the other was just as enamoured. Coyote found her endearing and was more than intrigued to learn more about this pretty little thing who had wandered right into her paws.

BRIGHTNOSE ──
skyclan | warrior

Brightnose's heart threatens to leap into her throat at the RiverClan cat's words, but she manages to relax her haunches as she sheepishly smiles.
"Brightnose," she says, then quickly stammers out "Th-that's my name, I mean..." Sweeping her gaze over the river, she can see her own rippling reflection. She remembered to groom her fur earlier, right? Too late to double-check now...
"You're RiverClan, right?" Brightnose asks, moving past her flubbed introduction before she can let herself agonize over it. "It's wonderful to meet you." An understatement, but it will do.

Taking a deep breath, Brightnose allows the cool breeze to carry her nerves away with it. When her eyes meet the chimera's once more, she is a bit more calm and collected.
"And how about you? I'd love to put a name to such a beautiful face." If she's being honest, she knows nothing of flirting or romance or any of the sort. The only real knowledge she has to pull from is what she's gained from watching couples within her own Clan and hearing stories of her parents' courtship when she was a kit. She owes it to herself to try, however, seeing as the glint in the other cat's eyes is one of interest and attraction. In short, Brightnose is pretty sure she actually has a chance, provided she shoots her shot, so she'll do her best and desperately hope that it's enough.

She watched with a tilted head as the silver molly spoke, flustered and stumbling over every last word. Coyote hadn't realised a dumb smile slipped across her maw the more the other spoke. Idly muttering 'Brightnose.' beneath her breath, such a fitting name for such a lovely molly.

The chimaera chuckled warmly as she sat on her haunches, humming in agreement. "Riverclan indeed, I came here with my siblings after we all migrated from our Shipyard." Coyote added, absently, more focused on the reddening of the others' ears as she fumbled about her words. "Rather glad we did, it's all my pleasure to meet you." Words slipping from her maw easily, a sort of relaxation she hadn't found herself in for a very long time.

Her own stupid grin widened, having to look away for a moment, genuinely flustered by Brightnose's own sweet talking. She swiped at her cheek with her paw to try to lessen the burning in her own face. How this felt so different to any other molly she had met, Coyote had no idea, but she wasn't upset by the attention either. "Coyoteclaw, though nothing would sound as sweet as your name." She purred, expression utterly softened by the other.

Coyoteclaw was more than grateful that there was indeed no patrol tailing her; she would have hated for their conversation to be cut short. She wrapped her tail about her paws as she spoke once more. "Have you ever tried the fish from the river before? I would be more than happy to get you something fresh if you would like?" Giving prey to another cat from outside the clan would likely ruffle some feathers, but what the clan didn't know didn't hurt them. She was just pleased at the idea of giving the lovely molly before her some token of her affections.

BRIGHTNOSE ──
skyclan | warrior

Brightnose finds herself acting completely different from how she does around her Clanmates, glancing shyly back and forth and batting her eyelashes like a lovestruck fool. She's glad nocat else is around to see her like this - how embarrassing it would be if they ever found out! Despite her own sheepishness, however, she craves being closer to the chimaera across from her, silently cursing the river for its rushing waters too deep for a SkyClanner like her to cross.

Coyoteclaw… the name rings in Brightnose's ears, and she repeats it over and over in her mind. "A gorgeous name for a gorgeous cat… how fitting." She's relaxed quite a bit now, her tail-tip idly flicking back and forth with admiration for the other cat's beauty. Her eyes widen slightly with surprise, however, when Coyoteclaw offers to catch her a fish fresh from the river. She's never had fish before - isn't sure if she'll even like it - but Brightnose wouldn't dare dream of turning her down.
"You would do that for me?" she asks, her smile widening to a crooked, smitten grin. "I've never had fish, but I'll gladly try one so long as it's caught by you."
I'll have to catch her something in turn sometime, once my stupid paw heals… damn you, ThunderClan…
