RATTLEKIT, Thunderclan Kit // He/They // #ffa34c
Smoke torbie / Chocolate lynx point chimera with low white and amber-yellow eyes
Son of THORNSTAR and SERPENTBERRY, sibling to LEAFKIT and THISTLEKIT
Full of mischief and curiosity! Rattle doesn't always do the right thing but always does what he thinks is best.

Rattlekit had become increasingly more and more curious about his mothers' work the older he got, so when Rowanpaw had started working alongside her he naturally also became curious about what she was up to as well! At times he would have to be ushered out and away from the medicine den so that the pair could work without a bumbling kit getting beneath their paws, today though it seemed like Rowanpaw wasn't too busy! The young tom had sat just outside the medicine den-- Though out of the way of the entrance itself, and the second the other cat came back out into the rest of camp she would have one of her little siblings hurrying on after her, trailing behind like a baby duck would follow its mother.

"Rowanpaw! Hi Rowanpaw!" He mewed up to her as he tried to weave around her legs with his tail held high, briefly attempting to rub a cheek up against one of her legs with the side of his face that looked most like his fathers'. "Can you tell me more about what you and Mother do now? Pretty please!!! I've been waiting really goodly! I promise!" He'd mew pleadingly with big round honey coloured eyes, as if pointing out how good he'd been would magically mean she couldn't possibly still be too busy to teach him! "How much have you learnt already? Can you teach me anything! I'll listen and pay attention I promise! Do you know what your full name is gonna be? When will you get it? When will I get to be Rattlepaw! Can you be my mentor?" He hadn't even gotten an answer yet before he started firing off questions! Oh Rattlekit...

Rowanpaw is sorting through their herb stores, focused on trying to remember the names of everything, when suddenly a small familiar voice pipes up from behind her– a tiny body presses against her legs. One of her little siblings is there, words tumbling out of his mouth seemingly without being able to stop them. She smiles, purring softly and brushing her nose against the tip of one of his ears.

"Slow down, Rally," Rowanpaw meows, still smiling down at the kit. He was practically bouncing off the walls. "One question at a time! Otherwise I can't keep up…" she sits down on her haunches, gesturing to the herbs she'd been sorting. "I've learnt a lot, but there's tons more to learn… I'll probably still be an apprentice when you get your apprentice name!" She says with a grin, although she realizes she doesn't actually know how long apprenticehood is supposed to be. "And I don't know what my full name is going to be… maybe mother will come up with something when the time comes?" She leans down a little, narrowing her eyes playfully. "As for who your mentor will be… hm, I don't think I'll know enough by the time you're ready to get a mentor, with how fast you're growing! And besides, do you really want to be stuck in a den all day, sorting through herbs? You wouldn't be able to sit still!"

There was a lot to learn about his blessed ancestors. Why they had sent a message to Serpentberry yet had left her successor in the paws of a mortal; whether they trusted her enough to make the right choice or if they simply knew that regardless of any decision, ThunderClan would be ok. They were things he wished he could question, to learn, but at that moment, someone else had already asked questions. His ears perked up at the sound of Rattlekit by the medicine den, his curious voice carrying perhaps father than he'd realised. Rowanpaw didn't seem too perturbed by it. It took him a second to remember that they were siblings, within that brief span of time that he approached, Brightpetal lamented that his own younger sibling could not be as eager to talk to him.

An uncomfortable feeling caused him to shake his head, as if a physical action would rid of the mental cobwebs beginning to build up. Maybe one day he'd have a nice bond with his kin again.

"I dunno Rowan, maybe you should let him get a taste of Medicine Cat life," the orange cat smiled wildly. "It wouldn't hurt to let him organise some old— uh, highly cool totally still useful herbs." If it kept him busy and gave Serpentberry a kitsitting break, then perhaps the experience wouldn't be as chaotic as Brightpetal expected it to be.

Full of mischief and curiosity! Rattle doesn't always do the right thing but always does what he thinks is best.

Rattlekit would return the purr in a rather loud rumbling when Rowanpaw brushed her nose against the tip of one of his ears. When told to slow down he would give a little giggle, sitting himself down but still wiggling about where he sat, his tail flicking to and fro in anticipation for all the answers! "Okay okay! Heheh!" When gestured to he'd shuffle over to see what Rowanpaw was showing him, it was a whole heap of herbs that she seemed to have been in the middle of sorting! His amber eyes glowed with interest as he twitched his nose and tried to see if he could tell any apart from one another... But to no avail, he had no experience with telling which herb was which yet after all, or what any of them really did but what he did know was that they were important!

Listening intently as Rowanpaw began her answers he would tilt his head in confusion when she pointed out that she'd likely still be an apprentice when he got his apprentice name, was her training really that long?! Rowanpaw had a lot of patience... "Does that mean we might train together?" He asked curiously, not quite understanding that one cat probably couldn't be both a Warrior and a Medicine cat at the same time and that a medicine cat apprentice didn't exactly train with the warrior apprentices'. Rowanpaw didn't know the answer to all of his questions though either, saying that maybe their mother would come up with Rowan's full name once the time was right! Rattlekits' eyes shone at hearing this, his tail tip flicking back and forth excitedly as he squeaked up yet another question, "What do you hope your full name will be! Can mother name me too?"

The young kit would lower himself into a playful crouch when the apprentice narrowed her eyes playfully at him, striking out his fore-paws one at a time as he attempted to gently bat at her fluffy tail-- But at least it was clear he was still listening! To him Rowanpaw was so smart, she must already be clever enough to have an apprentice of her own! Or at least soon! Right? But she didn't think she'd know enough by the time he would become an apprentice... Maybe their mother could teach the both of them! Together! "Being stuck in a den all day with you and mother doesn't sound bad! That sounds fun!" He'd chirp, forgetting the fact that being around them didn't mean they could just play all day long! "You don't just sort herbs too though right? You get to talk with StarClan too! That's so cool, have they said anything to you yet? What did they say!" Out of all the questions he kept firing off, the ones around StarClan were the only ones were he seemed to falter a little after asking them. He wanted to ask about their father. He knew that he had to be up there too but anytime he'd heard about him from other cats he was always spoken about sorrowfully. Rattlekit didn't want to upset Rowanpaw by asking about him directly, but he really wanted to know more about the cat he'd never gotten to meet but was often times compared to. Some had pointed out how half of his face reminded them so much of Thornstar, but Rattlekit had never seen him. He'd shuffle his little paws and looked down for a few moments before his ears twitched and perked up at the sound of another voice approaching them.

It was Brightpetal! The ThunderClan Deputy! The young toms' eyes began to sparkle with wonder once more as he sprang to his paws and raced over to the tabby, practically dancing on his paws in front of the older cat after reaching him! "If Rowanpaw can't be my mentor then can you be my mentor Brightpetal! I can be the Deputy Apprentice!" He squeaked excitedly, as though that were an actual role. Brightpetal seemed for the idea of Rowanpaw showing Rattlekit some of what it was like to be a Medicine cat which only made the kit more excited! He'd race back over to Rowanpaw-- Almost bowling into them but stopping himself just in the nick of time and sitting himself back down to instead eagerly patter his paws on the spot. If the Deputy said it was alright then surely it was! Right?
