The walk here is bruised by harsh winds, dampened by recently passed rains. Their pelt bristles against each biting breeze, holding themself tight against it with every meager step; it's a lot harder than they'd thought, based on the joyous chittering of those pretender kittypets, the ones that droned about the wild and exploration and adventure. Apparently they'd found what they wanted recently... something exciting, something unfamiliar. The scent of pine needles and dried prey blood. They wouldn't deny it had summoned up a latent curiosity, an electricity to snap through their limbs as they remembered their age; young and prepared for broader horizons.
They'd traveled further than this anyways, scoured the tall, shifting fields near that ruddy Twoleg structure. They'd found friend... and more well beyond the tall silhouettes of their alleys and gardens... so perhaps it wasn't far-fetched that something else like them could exist in the density of the evergreens. An overwhelming stench halts them in their tracks, taking shelter near a sturdy trunk that could better shield them from the cold. It's a blustering day to be nosy... but it's best to do it now, while their kittens at home are contentedly sleeping and blissfully ignorant to their absence. The bi-color cat takes a seat, licking down a few wily hair along their flank that had become raised and uncouth, lifting their head at the sound of shifting needles against the floor.
"Hey there!" They practically leap back up to their feet, ears sat forward in a gesture of polite focus; they wouldn't deny them their fullest attention given their role as a gossipy guest. "Hope I'm not botherin' ya, promise I'm just here to introduce myself; I usually skirt pretty far around to avoid your scent lines when I pass by this way but.." They clam up as they realize they've probably offered too much of a rambling than any proper greeting. "Name's Eden; some of my neighbors mentioned you guys."
