In a section of camp, the ferns and grass grow just tall enough to give the area a privacy curtain. The medicine cat's den is a hollowed out log, split in half from decades of misuse. The wood breaks out in sections, separated just enough to tuck herbs in between. To make sure it's not cramped, a bush has been woven into a spacious den to ensure there's enough room. It wraps around the fallen log in a hug, thanking it for protecting StarClan's blessed. Swallowpaw's nest sits tucked near the back, and beside it, a much larger one that still hasn't been removed...

— patient visitors are allowed until nightfall, anyone who's contagious will be quarantined in the elder's den
— she dislikes when people loiter around her den, and prefers cats don't overstay their welcome
— swallowpaw won't do herb patrols alone and prefers a warrior or two to accompany her
— curious kittens will be shooed and chided if they go near the herb stock

StarClan has a positive relationship with SkyClan's healer

SkyClan's current, and only medicine cat available is Swallowpaw. She's a young, timid girl simply trying her best-- her knowledge is minimal, but she'll do what she can despite circumstances. For the first few months of training, she worked under Tigerfoot. After his mysterious disappearance, the rest of her training has been taken over by ancient ThunderClan's medicine cat, Phloxwish. They communicate through short dream visits, and her connection to StarClan.

Because of how inexperienced Swallowpaw is, any injuries that center around either will have lifelong complications (limps, chronic pain, breathing issues etc) and extra long recovery dates.

SkyClan's herb storage is kept track using a herb system originally developed by Rae & Tully, with changes made by maxine. Everything is rolled in a private channel to keep clutter from the main Purrgy server. As time goes on, this may be adjusted to keep things balanced. There is no universal system for herb tracking, all of this is for fun and to give a sense of realism when injuries happen.

- as of now, there is no coin flip to determine if mc can roll for herbs to properly test the system
- mcs get 4 rolls a month, either spaced out or done together, but you can't use all within the same day. 3dx is rolled to determine how many are found, then a 3d8 is used for placement
- dice number depends on season for realism

-- winter: 3d4​

- at the end of a season, herbs will be subtracted using a 3d4 for amount lost, then 3d8 to choose which stock
- for patients, a 1d4 is rolled to subtract the amount used. more severe wounds will require a larger dice (capped at 8)

- once a season, healer may extend a "luck die" and roll a 1d6 to add the result to any herb stock

DOWNYKIT, deep lacerations in back from hawk talons -- estimated date is 04.07.2025, extended stay due to size and state of injury. must complete physical therapy before apprenticeship. allowed to go between nursery and medicine den as long as there's an adult walking her to and back.


short stay + a smooth, easy recovery
medium stay + it's not fatal, but they're keeping a close eye in case
long stay + either extended time, or it's just that bad
they've tried, or nothing can be done, it's best to keep the cat comfortable
