THUNDERCLAN MEDICINE CAT DEN
x
beneath winding ivy and well placed undergrowth, a well-carved cavern in the cliff face shows itself. it is dark inside, only the faintest streams of light filtering in through the cracks in the wall. the scents are intense, often nauseating to those unused to their potency. herbs are tucked into holes in the furthermost wall, with the worst of them tucked out of reach for small paws. it's oddly cold, oddly unwelcoming - even as two mollies invite you inside, you cannot say for certain you may leave in one piece.
CURRENT MEDICINE CATS: Serpentberry & Rowanpaw
About Serpentberry
Serpentberry is very factual and cruel. She may deem an injury too small to waste herbs on or a wound too festering to even try. Though she is particular in this way, she knows her place in the Clan and if pushed, she will treat any wayward soul or injury that arrives in her paws. Kits and dams are often her priority - it's not uncommon for a warrior to wait an entire day for their ailments to be seen. She's protective of her space, in the warmer moons opting to house sick and hurt cats in the covering just outside of the den.
About Rowanpaw
Rowanpaw is a soft shadow of her mother and mentor, gentler and more willing to help, offering hope as well as healing. During the day she is often found in the den, studying herbs and listening to Serpentberry's lessons– during the night, she can be found in the mouth of their den, staring longingly up at the night sky.

DEN DESCRIPTION & RULES
-
Serpentberry carved the medicine den out of an already broken spot in the camp's cliff face. She spent hours in the day hauling rubble out to make room for herself, her apprentice, and whomever may need a place to rest. In addition, her Clanmates have helped provide covering just outside of the opening, creating more room in case inside grows too cluttered.
Herbs often sit on little 'shelves' forged into the inner walls of the cave, with the more dangerous ones put higher and out of little paws' reach. The herbs are often rearranged as a lesson to Rowanpaw, forcing the younger molly to recall herbs by their image and scent rather than their placement. Herbs that do not often grow in ThunderClan territory but are gifted to ThunderClan are kept apart from the normal stock, as a reminder that they are unreplenishable.
Serpentberry rests within a dip in the ground, centermost to the den. She settles at night where she can see the moon and stars still, and where the sun reaches her first. Here is where she will often coddle sick kits when they cannot return to their mothers.
Depending on the weather, Rowanpaw either sleeps in the back of the den, protected from rain or cold winds, nestling near the wall of herbs as she often sits before it until late in the night. Should the skies be clear and the nights warm, she can be found in the mouth of the den, where she can look up at the moon and stars.
RULES
No one may be unattended in the den. If there is only one patient, they are asked to step out into the 'outdoor' nests and wait for a medicine cat to return.
Rowanpaw's decisions are paramount to any warrior's; Serpentberry's decisions supersedes her apprentice's. Only StarClan and Juniperstar may override both of them.
There is no damning StarClan in the yawning maw of the medicine den, nor in front of the medicine cats. You will earn a moon's worth of tick duties from Serpentberry herself.
Mistreatment of any patient in the Medicine Cat's den will result in a talking to and punishment. They are charges of Serpentberry and Rowanpaw, and as such only those two mollies may chide them for their idiocy. -

PLEASE NOTE! These skills may improve with IC knowledge being shared between Clans and cats! This will often dictate how ThunderClan medicine cats will treat their injured cats. This does not mean that if a cat falls ill, they will have no chance of recovery; we can and will always work with roleplayers if they want their OC to survive! If you are interested in a plot resulting in learning new ways to treat new ailments, DM someone on the TC MC team!
