He thinks if he had to go back into the snow today, he'd rather fall over dead.

Thunderflash's teeth are chattering as he makes it back to camp. The winds blowing off of the Thunderpath, mixed with the acrid stench, and the way he had to balance the herb in his mouth to make sure he didn't accidentally injest something that could be stupid to ingest, well.. long fur had snow dangling from it, ears pinned backwards and a sour expression on his face. "M' no' goin' back tha' way until all this white shite is gone." Thunderflash uttered to himself, a frown twisting on his muzzle.

Eyes glance back towards Rampaw and Copperstorm, another check to make sure they were in step with him, before he pushes his way through the gorse tunnel. Heading towards Serpentberry's den, he lays the herb down between his paws. "Serp'?" He called. Another one of his nicknames was out on display. Serp, Ghostie- more would be sure to come, and more would be likely to piss the receiving cats off. That was his specialty, anyways. He looks back at the two that were on the patrol with him. "If y' want to go find Juniperstar n' tell her, tha'd be amazin'." He says, smiling at them lightly, despite the chill eating at his bones.

COPPER OF THUNDERCLAN

Copperstorm padded after the others, his gaze flicking briefly over Serpentberry before settling on Thunderflash. With a small flick of his ear, he gave the larger tom a curt nod. " Will do. " he replied, his voice steady. As he passed, he brushed Thunderflash lightly with his tail, a gruff but friendly grin tugging at his face.

" Go rest, Thunderflash. You saved the day. " he added, glancing back with an air of friendliness, a wink given before he turned to Rampaw. His golden eyes softened slightly as they rested on the apprentice. " You want to come along? Better keep up then, kid. " he teased, tilting his head before striding confidently toward Juniperstar.

Reaching the leader, Copperstorm stood tall, his demeanor serious as his eyes met hers. " Juniperstar. " he began, his tone calm but firm. " We come bearing news about the territory we scavenged for herbs. " He paused briefly, his tail flicking slightly in irritation at the memory of the dead snake below his paws. " I think it's best to warn the clan to stay clear of the area. They're snake's rocks... " he continued, eyes narrowing momentarily. " We found a dead snake there, which likely means more of them. I don't know much about winter, but I'd wager they'll be even more present when the sun warms the stones and green returns to the trees. "

His narrowed eyes betrayed his concern, though his posture remained steady, carrying the confidence of a seasoned warrior. With a single lash of his tail, he breathed out a sigh. " Better safe than sorry, Juniperstar. "

what little reprieve she'd found for herself by sending out those little adventure groups was short lived.. just enough to take a small nap in what tiny patch of sun she could find, only to snap up abruptly at the mention of her name. not to be caught with a round belly splayed out in the warmth, the leader rolls to her stomach quickly, standing with just as much haste despite the disarray of her fur that suggests she might've been dozing.

"Huh- wha- Yes. I'm here, I'm awake," she meows, blinking the sleep from her eyes to find Copperstorm stood before her. Snakes? A dead one... thank stars... There would be no bites to treat, no more dead to deal with. Relief trickles down her spine, "Thank you for letting me know... Please make sure to let anyone know as you see them leaving camp, I'll try to stop any other hunting parties from leaving before they hear about it."

a yawn splits her jaws, looking past the reporting warrior to make sure she could get a head count on the rest of that group. "Did everything else go okay? Everyone's safe?"

Shes unsurprised when it's Thunderflash's group that returns first; the tom bleeds 'overachiever,' even when his side threatens to break and bleed once more. She has the audacity to smirk has he approaches her, his chattering teeth all but punching holes in the scavenged plant life. Serpentberry takes the time to sniff at the herb, pleasantly surprised that it's something of use rather than a few too-sturdy weeds. She almost remarks this to the tom, however her annoyance with his shivering wins her attention instead.

"C'mon, now," she gestures to her den, "Get in before the winds make your teeth shatter." As she speaks, Serpentberry notices the brief catch of Copperstorm's gaze before the tom takes Rampaw away, disturbing a resting Juniperstar. She blinks the distant frustration away before checking back in with her friend, "What's got them scurrying like mice?" she asks Thunderflash, figuring that with him at the helm, he knew exactly what plagued the other two horribly enough to stir the chocolate furred moggy.

A sigh leaves him as Serpentberry finally finds him, despite the smirk laid on her muzzle. Oh, he could go with a good tussle, wipe that look off of her face. She gets to lay here all cozied up and wrapped around her young and get fed- a sharp breath is taken, the jealousy-that-really-wasn't-jealousy burning out before it could reach a boiling point. Honestly, he needed to get control of himself, but the way the wind had ripped through him for over half of a day was making him a little short-tempered. Ears perked as she inspected the herbs and didn't deny them. That was, you know, at least a bit of a relief.

Thunderflash rumbles a quiet noise of appreciation as she offers him shield from the cold, stepping into the den to get a reprieve. He eventually would have to go back out, but that was a later him problem. "Hm?" Her question takes a moment to work it's way through his brain. "Ah... well." He settles himself down, not in any of the nests, but it was definitely degrees warmer in here. "Found a nice pile o' rocks by th' Thunderpath. Smelled like mice first. Then i' smelled like snakes." He said, shaking his head. "Copperstorm found a dead snake. Didn't want t' stick 'round for live ones." He informs her, wrapping his tail over his paws.

COPPER OF THUNDERCLAN

Copperstorm watched her with quiet amusement, his golden eyes catching the flicker of uncertainty that crossed her features. For a moment, the faintest smile tugged at his lips, though he kept his expression composed. " Settle easy, good leader. " he murmured with a lighthearted tone, though he made an effort to keep his face serious. She was still learning, still finding her paws in a role she had not expected to hold so soon. No, that responsibility was meant for someone else... His thoughts drifted briefly to Hawthorne. The pang of memory was sharp, but Copperstorm pushed it aside, lifting his head to focus on her again.

" Not a problem at all, Juni. " he replied smoothly, his tone steady as always. He glanced back over his shoulder briefly, assessing the camp as he continued. " I'll make sure to speak with anyone leaving camp. If you can pass the message to the hunting parties, we'll cover everyone. I imagine you'll see them before I do. "

There was a brief pause as her question about the journey brought a thoughtful look to his face. He gave a small nod of affirmation. " Everyone made it back safely. Thunderflash managed to find some herbs along the way, so the trip wasn't for naught. " His voice softened slightly, a hint of reassurance threading through his words. His golden gaze lingered on her for a moment, the weight of unspoken thoughts hovering in the air before he turned away, already mapping out the next task in his mind.
