{$title} Prompt: an apprentice is being a bit silly and chases prey across the border!!! (Anyone can play this apprentice)

Flowercloud perhaps had stayed up too long the night prior during their party. But quite a few had. They were celebrating, and what more could they have expected? They were having fun celebrating instead of mourning and worrying for once in their life since their travels to this foreign land. And they would continue celebrating- they would continue learning- they would continue to grow as they have been. That was the deputies hope, that was her steps forward. They had endured loss, and their realities would change, but Flowercloud could not let herself or her clan fall behind anymore.

To her, the journey represented growth, the ability to move forward. The ability to push past the fear of change, and fully embrace it. She sat a long time wondering if she would be able to bare the sudden changes- but she and so many others had thrived. They had pulled through, and each and every cat before her was stronger than before. Flowercloud led her patrol with tired paws, but a bright smile. Her teeth glinted in the sunlight as she grinned back at her patrol.

"Alright... We have mere weeks left before leafbare embraces us. Let's get prepared to have our bellies full!" She keeps her tone light and positive, before scouring the lands before her. Her pawsteps against the fallen pines and crunch of some leaves were quiet, practiced stalking as she moved forward. Her plumage of tail hung behind her, her muscles in her shoulders stretching as she walked. Everything that had changed in this last year was for a reason, she remembered. And things that should have held her back only made her stronger. "Remember," she purred softly to the apprentice beside her. "Keep your senses open, your body low- and watch out for the crunchy leaves. The quieter you are, the less you have to run," she explains. "Go on." She knows Fidgetpaw will stay close, and she trusted him at this point to not need too much help hunting.

She spotted the marten digging into the roots of a tall pine and her whiskers twitched. It's form lifted, and before they both knew it- it was over and it's form hung from her jaws. She continued it's hole, burying her prey before looking onwards.

𓆦 𖢥 𓆨 𓆣 𐀔 Chrysalisgaze 𐀔 𓆣 𓆨 𖢥 𓆦

Unlike most of the hunting party, Chrysalisgaze didn't feel as exhausted after the previous night's celebrations. She was used to wandering the forest out at night, getting less sleep than was usual. She hadn't been going out at night by herself ever since her ambush at the fourtrees border, but her body still remembered. Still endured.
She crept along the branches, watching most of her patrolmates from above. They could hunt the ground dwellers while she focused on the birds and squirrels. Hunting above ground felt more natural to her, more familiar. Her claws held onto the bark, when she spotted a dark bird speckled with stars across its feathers. She smiled to herself - she had been meaning to bring whatever she caught back to Starlingtrail, to her love. How fitting that the bird she had found was a starling.
Silently, she lowered her body and moved closer to the bird, who sat turned away from her, cleaning its feathers with a black beak. She didn't wait for it to notice her, instead she lept, from further than what would usually work, but got lucky. Her claws connected with the bird's back and she held it in her grasp, killing it swiftly with a quick bite to the neck.
She felt satisfied with her catch, but then - that striped tail. Almost like a squirrel, but bigger, and striped. The creature nearly her own size. SkyClan was aware of its presense, the only one of its kind, recognisable by the nick in its ear. It had been evading their grasps, taunting them, stealing their prey and twigs and stones. No longer.
Chrysalisgaze narrowed her gaze. The creature had been dubbed King Julian as a joke at first, but the nickname stuck. Two kings, sharing the same territory. It was time for Hawkstar to win, to claim the territory as their own one final time.
The king had not seen her, too distracted by playing with the tree's leaves. She set her starling down silently, her dark pelt disguising her in the foliage's shade. Her mind was focused on nothing but the creature in front of her, the king of the forest, as she crept on silent paws closer and closer. Its head whipped around, spotting her. The grey creature lept up, but it was too late - Chrysalisgaze was faster, her legs stronger. Her claws caught on its tail, dragging it back down, and the creature screeched, its paw desperately trying to harm her with dull claws. But Chrysalisgaze had none of it and she silenced it once and for all. "For the king." she said triumphantly as the creature's body stilled, quieted down. "For Hawkstar."

OOC: 8 for medium prey - bird, but then i rolled a 69 on the d100??? King Julian is mine
