Dimmingsun can get used to this—and he surely will, seeing as he's already thinking of further patrols he can lead in the future. It's all useful, of course; WindClan will always be in need of herbs, and it'd be foolish not to take advantage of warriors who happen to have less tasks on their plate that day. It only makes sense. There are no ulterior motives behind it... none at all.

His paws are confident now as they carry him past the windswept hills. What grass manages to grow amongst these sunlit conditions feels a lot drier than in other locations, but his pads are getting used to the feeling. His home feels like a reflection of himself now: tough and resilient. Not every cat could withstand the sweltering sun during greenleaf... nor the icy winds buffeting your fur come leaf-bare, though that is something Dimmingsun has yet to experience. With each stronger gust of wind that only seem to increase in amount and severity, he knows that the snowy days are getting closer.

That's precisely why he is so adamant about gathering as many herbs as possible. He intends to prove himself even further to his Clanmates; if they are to survive the harshest of seasons under his care and watch, then he will need sufficient materials.

Perhaps... a bargain could even be struck with the other Clans- something to keep WindClan at the top. Strategy, strategy.

Dimmingsun slows and eventually comes to a halt inbetween a dip of two hills. It's almost valley-like, the way the ground rises on either side, giving them the appearance of cloud-reaching mountains from down here. Any rain or night-time wetness has ample chance to gather here, giving useful medicine more chances to grow—all while remaining shielded from too-intense winds.
"This spot ought to be good,"
he declares, facing the patrol.
"Gather anything that seems useful; Meadowpaw and I will check them over afterwards."

MEADOWPAW
x

Meadowpaw trailed a few paces behind, shuffling at an uneven rhythm. Today was a good day for foraging, and it was her first time doing so with each of the cats accompanying her today. Having to keep an eye on others could be, but with Dimmingsun to help, she didn't expect it to be too stressful. When the medicine-cat halts, she stops too. Meadowpaw immediately begins soaking in all the scents around them. She nods in agreement and branches out.

The wind laps gently at her pelt and Meadowpaw takes up a soft hum while she works—a habit she barely notices anymore. It isn't long before she's drawn to some perched stones. A pair of them are meshed together, and she takes to poking about their dark crevices. As she noses around, something sticky catches in her whiskers. She blinks and sits back on her haunches to brush it away from her eyes. Turns out to be a good find. Given how many cats have found themselves in the medical den due to injuries, she would never turn her nose up at cobwebs. She coaxes the silk free and catches the rest in her tail.

Meadowpaw values kindness and remembrance. As a kit, she internalized her mother's lessons, but questioned whether her way is the only way. She has broken free from the heavy burden of her mother's expectations due to their estrangement after the fire. She remains kind and soft-spoken through all she's endured, but is not afraid to speak out for what she believes is right.

Meadow works tirelessly at any task she undertakes, desperate to prove herself capable and worthy despite her disability. Without her mother's guidance, she finds new ways to express herself.

In conversations, she is gentle, thoughtful, and withdrawn, often hiding her struggles, fearing others seeing her as incapable. She continues to have a strong bond not only with her sister, but with her adopted family as well. Meadow uses her new freedom to support and deepen the bonds with her clanmates. Additionally, she has started to explore the more spiritual side of herself…

Her worldview is a complicated mix of hope and frustration. She wants to believe that there's hope at the end of all the suffering, but feels trapped by her limitations. With enough time and support, she may find a way to overcome her limitations and accept herself.
