Sun dripped down from the blue, cloudless sky and warmed the earth for likely one of the last times. The river was starting to chill, and Turtle felt the chill push through her thick fur. The current gently pulled her along, carrying her stars knows where. She didn't care at all, though. She was just happy to be going somewhere. The last place was cold, and lonely. No one had wanted to be around her long enough to actually make a friend! All the adult cats there seemed to be focused on themselves. Even the cats her age didn't want to hang out with her. Bah! Who needs them! Now, the river was her friend and it was taking her on an adventure.

She had tried swimming for some of the small fish that gathered in the shallows, but it had been so fun getting her feet wet and she got distracted and she figured the river had a better place for her to be than there so she let it float her away from that stupid place. The tortie watched as trees and fields rolled past her. This was a much easier way to traverse through the world than walking everywhere. Maybe she would find a place full of mice and toads and snails and frogs and bugs and mice and toads and snails an-

The smell of cats hit her like a wall, and the river seemed to pick up its pace a little. Her calm float turned into a more panicked float. "Uhhhh... River? I think I'm ready to leave now?" She mewed, turning from her back to her belly to try paddling to shore. The river did not appreciate her trying to leave its presence and a quick undercurrent pulled her paws from under her so she was spinning in its flow. "Not nice!" she yowled between gasps of air. She liked the river, and had found a small bit of confidence in it, but this was a new kind of river. The water was fast and churning. It refused to let her go. "I'd like to leave now!" She tried to plead one last time. Turtle knew river's couldn't hear, but her yowling was worth a shot.

ooc: turt's here!!! she's currently flowing past riverclan's territory and having a tough time getting out! feel free to powerplay and scoop her from the river!

Beepaw had been walking around with her mentor and the blue tabby apprentice at her side, Bubblepaw, as the black smoke begins to talk about how she had caught a massive fish the other day but its a little bit over exaggerated. The sound of splashing is what causes her head to snap in the direction of the river and sees a tortie flailing around as she mentions how she'd like to leave the water and speaking to it as if it were some sentient being. It makes a snort of amusement leave the older apprentice only to spare another glance in the direction of Bubblepaw and puffed out her ivory splashed chest with a curt nod "Don't worry, I got this." Swimming came as easily as breathing for Beepaw, so, without a moment of hesitation, the molly takes a few steps forward and allows her limbs to be greeted by the river.

She spares a glance in the direction of Willowburn to see if she was watching but it didn't really matter so long as Bubblepaw could see how heroic she is and she goes farther in the river with both of her ears angled forward. "Hey! I'll save you!" It doesn't take long for Beepaw to reach the stranger as she swims closer to peer at the younger molly and tilts her head to the side as she asks with a chuckle "Why are you talking to the river, huh?" She thought it was funny more than anything as she reaches forward so that her side presses against the others, "Here hold onto me and I'll take us to shore."

a small, curly haired black smoke w/low white and ocean-blue and fiery-amber eyes
eldest daughter of smokewreath, hazecloud, and lichentuft ; littermate to mantispaw, cricketpaw, lavenderpaw, juncopaw, rosemarypaw, and jackdawpaw

beepaw's a fiery little apprentice determined to prove her worth as she trains to become a warrior of riverclan, hotheaded, and quite stubborn. she will do anything to ensure that she makes it to the top at the cost of anything. where she's incredibly loyal to riverclan that gets put aside for her family since they always come first, she loves both her mothers and father, and her littermates even the younger ones that have joined their once small family.

The leader felt awful that he hasn't spent much time with Willowburn. The pair have only grown more distant and to be honest he's not sure if she still considers him a friend. After all, Riverclan was in the mess it was because of him and his terrible decisions. She is talking to him, which is a good sign. However, he can't relax like he once did with her. Maybe she wanted to create some distance from him? Maybe Adderfang's actions weighed on his mind more than he thought? He found himself a little wary with those he considered friends, especially when they were alone. It irked him. How his eyes lingered longer than he liked on the paws of his friends. Or... Maybe they've just been busy. Yeah that has to be it.

Their conversation is cut short when the sound of splashing followed by the sight of a figure flailing catch their attention. Before any warrior can move, Beepaw has already thrown herself in the water. A silver paw takes one step forward, before Willowburn stops him with a paw to his chest.
"H-huh? Why'd you stop me?"
The only answer he is given is in the form of Willowburn tilting her head to Beepaw. I don't get it. Knowing a battle is lost, the leader sighs and shifts attention to Beepaw. The apprentice has already made her way to the flailing figure.
"I'm jumping in the second this goes wrong."

He should believe in the apprentice and he does, but the river could be so unforgiving. There were times where adults, no matter how skilled met their end to the river. Nevertheless, he notes how gracefully Beepaw swam. It's almost time for you to become a warrior too. The moons have really gone by. I remember when you were still so small. He looks to Iciclepaw. The boy was still a bit shy, but he's grown. No longer does the tom have to crane his head up to talk to Pikestar. It was bittersweet to know their time as mentor and apprentice would come to an end soon too.

Ivytwist sat beside @Hydrangeabloom as they sifted through the peaty soil and shallows. "We're gonna find something good, I can feel it." He reassured his mate with an easy smile. They had some poor luck so far, following the bubbling shores with little reward for a few hours now. It wasn't time they could spend so frivolously anymore. Not with kits and the like to feed back home. His claws combed through the earth, only giving pause as he heard the distant mew of another. It didn't belong to a RiverClanner, he could tell right away, and he turned his head as he caught a glimpse of her shape in the waters.

"Hydra, I think someone's caught in the river." Ivytwist parted from his side quickly to chase down the shoreline, trying to catch up to the girl while she spun off. How lucky she is when he heard his Clanmates voices after her cries, knowing they are far closer than himself. Beepaw heroically leapt in to save the strange girl and Ivytwist does not hesitate to join her in the river from the other side, not interfering, but carefully observing as he balanced himself on the river rocks.

"Fishing for cats now, are we?" He mused to Pikestar after it became clear Beepaw was capable of bringing Turtle back to land.

The adults are so annoying. They act as if they all have frogs in their mouths and can't let them go. What happened at the gathering was... moons ago! Or, at least, it feels that way. Must they continue to hold these senseless grudges between themselves? Pikestar in the least seems eager to move along, but that sentiment isn't really shared in his court. If anything, the king of the rivers continues to be played the jester of the story. Her nose turns to Beepaw and Bubblepaw, a critique spurred on her tongue, ready for the thorns it may earn her... when shouting alerts them all to some danger.

... Or, rather, someone in danger. Lavenderpaw's half-lidded eyes widen slightly as she sees a stranger just... float by. Beepaw takes the opportunity to show off, and though Lavenderpaw rolls her eyes, she also takes the opportunity to lean back on her haunches and relax. This scene is far less harrowing than that of Asterpaw's, she finds, the mental image of the tom both far too easy to summon and far too terrifying to remember happily. It's almost entirely shrouded by his smiles and laughter that echo in her chest... and then she almost forgets that she's on a patrol at all.

Regaining her attention, she turns to Willowburn and Pikestar, head tilted slightly. "Will Beepaw be made a warrior for this?" It seems heroic enough, though the rapids are calmer today. Is this what they need to be dubbed warriors? She's not entirely sure any of them are clear on the merits, but if it is, then surely Frostmoth would vouch for her... or maybe he won't, to save them both the embarrassment of having to save that ThunderClan tom at all.
