Welcome to the official RiverClan mass adopts thread!

This is meant to be a hub for individuals and the RiverClan team to adopt out plot characters and relations, or to otherwise show what sort of character we would like to see more of in the clan! Please ensure that you read the general rules as well as all of the details for each category before applying so that we are able to accept your character expeditiously. Forms are free-for-all, we just ask that you would at minimum give us the details you would typically provide for a check-in.

These are FCFS, but please wait for a reply or reaction to your application to check-in or start roleplaying your character!
Because of the nature of mass adopts, there is no current end date. The team will do their best to ensure all information here is up to date!
Any designs kindly supplied here are for use in RiverClan only. Please do not apply with the intention of moving them or using them elsewhere.
The concepts and characters listed here are intended to be new characters only. They should not be applied to pre-existing characters.

FROSTMOTH AND STORMSWIRL'S PARENTS + LITTERMATE [0/3]

Host(s): Carat and Muddly

Backstory: Frostmoth and Stormswirl were born as kits on a fishing boat with their littermate. They were raised on the sea, and constantly had slick coats and full bellies until misfortune struck for their twolegs and they were forced to sell their fishing business. Due to the circumstances, the twolegs only took Frost and Storm's mother and littermate, leaving the pair to fend for themselves. This is what led them to join the colony at the shipyard, and ultimately RiverClan as well.​

  • Shorthaired Blue Mackerel Tabby with low white.
  • Left Frost and Storm behind when their twolegs sold the fishing boat they were born on. Misplaced due to irresponsible owners and finds her way to RiverClan after running into several cats in the shipyard- including her old mate who she just so happens to have reunited with…
  • Will have a somewhat distant relationship with her children initially
• Father - UNNAMED
  • Longhaired solid black with low white.
  • Was a transient tomcat on the fishing boat and in the shipyard where they used to live. Uninvolved and disinterested in his children. Comes to RiverClan with his mate who he has just reunited with. Unbeknownst to him, she is seeking her kits she left behind, and those kits just so happen to be sired by him.
  • Will have a fraught and negative relationship with his children. It's up to you whether or not you would like to try and mend it…
• Sibling - UNNAMED (but likely should have a 'weather phenomena' based name, similar to their siblings)
  • FFA Genetics, but should have an appearance that is similar to their siblings
  • Did not have a choice to stay or go and was taken with their mother when the fishing boat was sold so many moons ago. Happy to be with their family again. Similar to their littermates, not as excited about dad being back in the picture.
  • Should have a good relationship with Stormswirl and Frostmoth, but may struggle to adapt to clan life due to not growing up in the shipyard with their siblings.

These adopts are from the RiverClan Fall Festival Event. Currently, each adopt has been given warrior names along with a few personality ideas, but feel free to change the names or personality as you see fit! These cats will have joined RiverClan during or after the event and will be an integral part of it, so please keep this in mind. You may notice some of our 'encouraged' age categories or ranks listed with them, but if playing them as a different age or subrank speaks to you you are welcome to do so!​

Name: Beachshimmer
— Dilute Torbie with low white and amber eyes
— Sleepy, the first to bed and the last to rise, relaxed, confident in both river and on land, good speaker, loves to collect shells, rolls in sand, smells of the sea (Weaver encouraged)
— Original/Kittypet name: Sandy, Reef, Maya, Shelly

Name: Emberocean
— Mink Flame point with low white and blue eyes.
— Brash and daring, strong-willed and loud, speaks their mind, loves to play kit games with kits & apprentices though, may encourage rebellious behaviour
— Original/Kittypet name: Harmony, Nemo, Marlin, Amber

Name: Coastcinder
— Red Rosetted Tabby with low white and amber eyes.
— Nurturing, overly friendly and helpful maybe to a fault, polite but also prideful, don't bad-mouth their old twolegs! (Weaver encouraged)
— Original/Kittypet name: Coral, Ariel, Topaz, Bubbles

Name: Fisherflare
— Tortoiseshell with low white and green eyes.
— Mischievous and loves drama, whether that be causing it or listening in on it, likes a good fight, may start some but then deny doing so, "Oops did I do that?" giggly!
— Original/Kittypet name: Bella, Luna, Odette, Pandora

Name: Herringjaw
— Blue Barless tabby with low white and blue eyes.
— Beach cat, has ridden a surfboard before, big "surfer dude" vibes, loves the water, bit of a troublemaker but well meaning
— Original/Kittypet name: Bondi, Crush, Azul, Zeke, Cody

Name: Willowstream
— Seal sepia mink with low white and green eyes.
— Soft spoken and shy, frightens easily, likes to hide but very good hunter! Insightful when they do talk and close to those they connect with (Weaver encouraged)
— Original/Kittypet name: Jasper, Sienna, Hazel, Lola, Teddy

Name: Birchshark
— Chocolate Rosetted Tabby with low white and blue eyes.
— Big grandparent energy, but like the granny from Hoodwinked they had actually have a very adventurous/daring spirit, wise but also doesn't like to be fussed over (Elder aged encouraged)
— Original/Kittypet name: Opal, Pearl, Celeste, Aurora

Name: Velvetwake
— Seal point with green eyes
— Originally a boat cat, speaks in fishing/boat terms like sailor slang, "Ahoy!" for greetings and "Batten down the hatches!" when preparing for trouble, etc, adventurous (Elder/Senior-Warrior age encouraged)
— Original Kittypet name: Skipper, Paddle, Jet, Captain

VELVETWAKE MY BELOVED....

I would like to adopt Velvetwake with the intention of making him a bit of a stubborn old sea-dog. He's approaching retirement (getting up there as a senior warrior) but is dead-set on staying a warrior until "the sails give out". Obviously willing to commit to pirate slang and would be using the name Captain for his original kittypet name <3

I do think I would like to rename him to either Skimmersight (colour + history), Ploverslip (colour + history), Stormyspirit (colour + personality) or Tidewatcher (history)
[i'm leaning ploverslip if you guys are cool with that one?

Role: Former Shipcat > Riverclan Senior Warrior
Gender: AMAB, he/him
Personality Blurb: A set in his ways older tom-cat that has seen the world from his twoleg's boat more times than he can shake a stick at. Captain's true love is the sea, and in some ways he yearns for her embrace once more. He is a well-meaning tom, but he can come off as a bit crass due to his sailor humour. He is a more of an outgoing tom and finds it easy to spark conversation with others... though sometimes he seems to spark confusion with his mannerisms. Despite getting up there in age, he is still a bold and brash explorer --- proudly recounting his seafaring days to anyone that will listen.

I am cradling Herringjaw in my arms.... I imagine his character would provide a lot of comedic relief / silliness during the event, but as he gets to know RiverClan he can learn to sober up from his antics.... or double-down.... perhaps??? I think I'll play around with the suffix of his warrior name since I want to see how his personality develops more in-character. I adore Herring, though!

Age: 20-ish Moons
Rank: Former Kittypet > RiverClan Warrior
Gender: Male, He/Him
Personality Traits: charismatic, boisterous, humorous, reliable, selfless, overconfident, annoying, disrespectful, disorganized, childish, rowdy, naive
Notes: An outdoorsy Twoleg couple adopted Crush as a kitten, and they wasted no time in exposing him to the wilderness, especially large bodies of water. He loves everything about nature, and would take great interest in the uses of medicinal herbs and various hunting techniques. Given his carefree / sheltered upbringing, he is unserious, troublesome, childish, and often blissfully unaware of the gravity of certain social situations. He would struggle to understand the importance of Clan politics, and the harsher realities of Clan life would be a severe adjustment for him. From a place of ignorance, Crush will push others' boundaries/buttons and crack ill-timed jokes, but his underlying intentions are always to keep it light! He would be drawn to RiverClan for the sake of a new adventure, but would need a deeper emotional stake in the Clan (budding friendships and/or romance, heart-to-hearts, etc) to part with his housefolk. He is a surfer dude, through and through, who wants to make everyone happy.

Applying for Pikestar sibling 2!

Name: Kuhli -> Eelbrook

Pronouns: They, maybe he, but probably just they/them

Age: Whatever Pikestar is

Backstory: Kuhli was adopted by an elderly couple who lived in a big family house with a massive garden. The garden was filled with various plants, a herb garden, a large garden pond and lots of trees and bushes.
Kuhli was well taken care of, but when the elders' health deteriorated, they could no longer care for Kuhli properly and were faced with the dicision to put him up for adoption. Kuhli, instead, chose to leave on his own, looking for a new home.

Relationship with kittypet sibling and Pikestar: Kuhli would ocasionally meet up with their sibling, exchanging life stories and playfighting. They cut contact with Geronimo because of a fight their sibling had with him, but would eventually come to regret it - by that point, however, it was too late, and Geronimo was nowhere around for them to find.
Subject to change ofc depending on what Velou and second sibling's player are interested in!!

Future plot ideas: Kuhli (Eelbrook) grew up with a pond in their garden, so it's not that they are afraid of the water, they do enjoy swimming and even the taste of fish. However, their pond's surface was still and unmoving, unlike the rivers in the clan's teritorry, and they are terrified of going in them. They will need to learn to overcome this fear and try going into the river's current to become a proper RiverClanner

Name: ??? -> Brook -> Brookstorm
Age: 41 moons
Gender: AFAB; bigender she/he
Appearance: The spitting image of Pikestar - minus the scars.
Personality: Vocal, Judgemental, Protective
Notes: Whether she winds up rekindling any sort of relationship with Pikestar depends on him and their other sibling. However, time has passed since being adopted, and she is at least willing to talk.
He may continue to be irritated by Pikestar, perhaps doubting that the tom is truly gifted nine lives by the stars.
Brookstorm is likely to speak up when she disagrees, leading to friction between her and the higher positions in the Clan.
Brookstorm left her twolegs when Kuhli set out on their own, not wanting to lose contact.

Applying for the hot-headed Russetfall sibling!!

Name: Dark (To be potentially Darkling- or something else after he joins, not sure yet!)
Age: 16 moons (simply mirroring Russetfall's)
Gender: AMAB He/Him
Appearance: toyhouse here / A LH Black Smoke with bright green eyes, one of the only outward appearance ties to Russetfall. A brutish shaped tom with broad shoulders and more of a defensive body-shape then agile, he stands nearly a head taller then some cats. He carries a pawful of scars on his body, reminiscent of the gang that he left behind.
Personality/Story so far: Abrasive, edgy, curt, protective, hot-headed, truth and justice-seeking, unafraid to do what he needs to for his, or his sibling's, goals. Despite the rivalry he holds close to his chest, he does love them for who they were... keyword were. Rust left a while ago, and Dark holds that against her, but given the way the gang fell apart (or so he claims that's what's happened,) he doesn't have a foot to hold against her argument. He agrees to stay in Riverclan begrudgingly, helping with their general 'cause' of keeping everyone afloat together.
Potential Plots:
- Depending on who else applies to be Russet's sibling, I'd like to keep the guise of the gang "falling apart", wink wink nudge nudge. They were likely chased out after a ploy for the crown or something along those lines.
- Another plot I'm toying with is Russet and Dark's relationship getting pushed to the absolute brink (Looks at vi and jinx moments maybe? tie something into their vibes? i dunno!)
- Finally, a third plot is general distrust in the clan towards Dark, and his abrasiveness in general. Not willing to engage in teamwork (to start,) snapping at whoever gets too close, etc.

Backstory: Poseidon was named after the god of the sea, his owners hoping for him to grow into a confident and strong cat. Instead, Poseidon turned out to be shy, anxious and very, very sleepy. Instead of getting rid of their mice, he would bring home pretty rocks and shells. His family's daughter adopted him, but after a while grew bored with him, as she was preparing to go to college and leave him behind. During the current RC event, the daughter would have returned for a holiday back home and went camping with friends, bringing Poseidon with her. He will, however, have other plans, and after befriending some RiverClan cats, will decide to join them instead

- Love the personality, keeping all of that. Very meek and quiet, doesn't so much join on purpose as she is accidentally left when her twolegs leave and clings briefly to the hope they'll return but eventually will like clan life enough that she lets it go and grows content with her new home.

Gender: AMAB, Any pronouns, god knows what gender she is
Appearance:

A lithe, long-haired tom, far less forboding than either sibling, but doesnt mean they arent a force to reckon with. Average height but longer limbs. Dotted with healed over scarring. (thank u for hypo design savvy mwa).

Personality:

• Smooth talking and level-headed, adept in talking his way out of trouble (or at least soothing cats into a lull before striking).
• Finds the rivalry incited by Dark and Russet to be exhausting, having thought they could find some peace after they finally got out of the gang where Dark sought to rise the ranks. Not expecting or gunning for a quiet life, though, they still hold frustration towards Russet for hightailing without the rest of them and decidedly still sees it as cowardly.
• Doesnt hold a high respect for russet on her introduction to the clan, likely is one to talk freely about the gang and earn more of Russets ire. But down the road may try to bridge the gap with her (likely then to the detriment of her relationship with dark)
• Loyal only to their siblings, even if they both irritate her endlessly, theyre all she has and ever has

Potential plots:

• Eventually tries to bridge the gap with Russet, likely after another argument between the three of them over the perceived rivalry. Maybe Dark and Russet do, but Umber has nothing to prove, theyre content with who they are thinks the both of them should just be grateful for their strengths than trying to one up everyone.
• Big agree on laevs idea w the clan "fallin apart", umber was never interested in *fighting* for the power, but helping dark fight his way to the top instead.
• While flippant with the clan, their tendency to talk their way out of issues and being more personable than either sibling (albeit, not with full honesty to the clan) could lead to them getting more entangled in clan affairs than they intended. motions to my idea above this, cycles r hard to break out of and could lead to umber unintentionally trying to find cracks in the power dynamic of the clan, they see russet in a place of power on the council n thinks the only sorta safety they could get is if they had *more* control

PERSONALITY + BACKSTORY: Coastbeam is a kindly soul who doesn't mind reminding others of their boundaries. From living with an older Twolegs who would often forget things, they have grown to be very patient and willing to put up with things that would require time and effort to make a difference in. However, seeing their beloved Twolegs become older in her age, Coastcinder knows in her kindest of hearts that there will be a time she would have to say goodbye; in that time, she watched from her windows the cats of the rainforest with interest. Though it hurt to leave what she had always known to be her home, with so many other cats around, she figured that she would barely be missed if remembered at all. From there, Coastbeam had always been eager to prove to RiverClan that her kindness and thoughtfulness could be of use and if needed, she could be firm and firey. Unfortunately, once she gets started on her tirade, it takes a moment for her to spew out everything on her mind before recollecting herself, especially if its about her old home and family she knew would be
PLOTS: Perhaps the former housemates of the old lady have been searching for her since she passed away, the latter of which are resentful towards her for leaving them all to find their own way to survive/are utterly confused and/or helpless to how life is among the clans and need a guiding paw. RiverClan wise, she would be slowly coming into her own, becoming more and more confident and maybe becoming a Pearl Diver one day
