Welcome to ShadowClan's assignment hub! Here will be our headquarters for all things "mentorship", with the main priority being pair assignments. See below for additional information and services.
Characters will randomly be assigned by Sablestar without confirmation of the pair unless otherwise requested. If you are hoping for a specific pairing, please let gonkpilled know through the discord!

MARBLESHINE — marbleshine will be super supportive and perhaps find it a bit difficult to be strict with her apprentice. she will try her best to cheer them on and assure they get taught that strength isn't everything. she will try to show them to be strong in more ways than one. she will probably have a hard time and stretch herself thin trying to be everywhere at the same time. i imagine the apprentice given to marble will either love her or hate her ; high activity
NETTLEFROST — nettlefrost is blind and still learning the new camp & territory. nonetheless, his hearing is heightened due to his lifetime blindness, which makes him a fairly decent hunter. he'll likely focus on hunting when it comes to training. In terms of combat, his large size makes him a deadly grappler, but his inability to see oncoming attacks often leads to failures in battle. apprentices that train under him may end up lacking in combat skills as a result ; casual activity
GROTTOWATCHER — grottowatcher is an encouraging and patient mentor, focusing on his apprentices' interests and strong points to help them learn more efficiently. he values independence and encourages his apprentices to be self-sufficient, though he still lends a paw when they need it. every training session will be a lesson in itself that goes beyond hunting and fighting, rather fostering critical thinking and practical solutions for problems on the go. he is not particularly skilled in combat, and relies heavily on pairing with another mentor-apprentice team to do battle training effectively ; flexible-high activity
JADETHORN — she does not want an apprentice, don't give her an apprentice (this is not realistic please give her one). she dislikes kits unless their personality pique her interest (see: fleapaw). she's rude, mean, and would most likely avoid the responsibility of having to have a little one tag along with her. i think the best apprentice choice would be a kit of importance (where she can't shrug responsibility unless she wants to get in *huge* trouble) or a kit that she has already shown interest in (which she might be more involved in). otherwise, she is a great mentor for any kind of 'abandonment' plot if a player wants a mentor that's extremely hands off ; casual-flexible activity - TICKPAW — they are very hissy and straight to the point and glare a lot. if he's forced to do things, he will go against the grain ; flexible activity

When it comes to assessments, Sablestar loves testing apprentices based on what sparked his separation from the Colony- hunting skills are a priority and fighting skills secondary. A standard assessment looks like an evaluation of one's tracking abilities through the strong smells of the swamp, where an apprentice will be tasked with discovering three warriors (typically their mentor and two trusted warriors) that have masked their scent with mud. Sablestar requires a total of three assessments spaced between one and a half moons to measure the apprentice's progress.
As ShadowClan grows and develops along with Sablestar, assessment styles and their requirements may change in the future.
While it is not required by any means, assessments can be the perfect place for some juicy character development... and a perfect opportunity for Sablestar to choose a warrior's name based on their prowess in skill, attitude, or any remarkable attributes he notices.
