ShadowClan Mentor Assignments // UPDATED 12.14.25

Name: Jadethorn
Experience level: Skilled in Hunting (especially birds) and Fighting but has never experience as a mentor
Activity level: Flexible/Casual Priority! I love her a lot but muse can come and go with her personality
Notes: She does not want an apprentice, dont give her an apprentice (this is not realistic please give her one) She dislikes kits unless their personality peek her interest (see: Fleapaw). She rude, mean, and would most likely avoid the responsibility of having to have a little one tag along with her. I think the best apprentice choice would be a kit of importance (where she can't shrug responsibility unless she wants to get in *huge* trouble) or a kit that she has already shown interest in (which she might be more involved in). Otherwise, she is a great mentor for any kind of 'abandonment' plot if a player wants a mentor that's extremely hands off!

Name: Fleapaw
Potential plots for apprenticeship: Me and Taz have a wholeee bunch. I could explain but I'll just screenshot our yapping. HERE
Activity level: High/Primary
Notes: Fleapaw is smaller than she should be as an apprentice due to her bad genetics. She's weak and without proper training (which she won't be receiving right away for plot reasons) will fall behind the others and develop a bit of an inferiority complex. Oh, and I should mention she will eventually drop @possumgrin (behind the scenes, he can still be the 'face') and accept @Froststorm as her mentor. Yes, she's joining the darkside. Luke I am your father. It's over Anakin I have the high ground.

Predetermined mentor for now is Possumgrin.

Name: Hushpaw
Potential plots for apprenticeship: Nothing specific, mostly just character development.
Activity level: secondary/flexible
Notes: Hushpaw won't be the easiest apprentice. Shy and a bit insecure, he'll be hesitant to do things that he doesn't believe he can, especially if there's a risk of being hurt or humiliated. He's inquisitive, but that can work against him sometimes as he challenges his mentors reasoning or methods. Sometimes he's just in a poor mood and being defiant, but othertimes his questions are a form of genuine curiosity. As a final note, while Hush is more on the cautious/tempermental side, he's not a coward or a hateful little guy, and there's definitely chances for mentor-apprentice bonding and for it to be a positive experience for them both :)

Potential plots for apprenticeship: nothing specific for plots!
Activity level: casual, tertiary character
Notes: manchineelpaw learns best through observation and analysis rather than direct instruction. she doesn't like being told what to do, but she's sharp enough to piece together the lesson on her own if given space. her guarded nature and deep mistrust of authority figures can make her resistant to traditional teaching methods, especially if she senses condescension or control. she excels at strategy, stealth, and critical thinking, but struggles with tasks that require vulnerability, collaboration, or surrendering control—like trusting a mentor or admitting when she needs help.

Potential plots for apprenticeship: she's known to be very sickly but also very determined. she may need a longer apprenticeship based on having to be bedrested often. i don't mind if her mentor is encouraging of this or despises her for it.
Activity level: casual
Notes: as stated, she has a weak immune system and often falls ill due to over exertion or simply bc she breathes wrong!! she's going to push herself excessively and often. however this meshes with a mentor is fine by me <3

Potential plots for apprenticeship: I would like for her to have a revelation for more confidence / realizing not everyone is out to get her & I would love to plot closely with their assigned mentor to do so :3
Activity level: casual, i think activity will fluctuate w/ mentor activity
Notes: will need someone very patient & kind, has a SEVERE lack of self confidence & thinks mostly everyone is an enemy

Name: Mistletoekit --> Mistletoepaw
Potential plots for apprenticeship: A very stubborn child, I can see her being a thorn in the side of her mentor for her refusal to do things she doesn't enjoy; a determined soul, I can see her becoming the pride of her mentor for her perseverance with difficult lessons. I think it could be fun for her to have a rocky start to her apprenticeship and gradually, begrudgingly earn her mentors respect, and by the same token it would be fun to start apprenticeship with a high and see how far she falls. A dynamic and changing mentorship!
Activity level: casual (but if you ping/message I'll pop her in whatever thread you need!)
Notes: she hates change and is self-centered in a non-malicious way, she just doesn't know better yet. i'm very happy for this to be enabled or challenged <3

Notes: Hollow is patient and very big on learning from one's mistakes. They would let their apprentice attempt things on their own before showing them the proper way or building on their attempt as a foundation to perfect it.

Experience level: average
Activity level: Secondary character! I would say his activity level is p high
Notes: Not an amazing fighter on account of his small size, but he's (usually) pretty good at avoiding getting hit. Stealth is his strong suit. Has a hot temper and a bad attitude but tries to be a good influence anyways
 
Name: Fleafire
Experience level: Beginner
Activity level: High / Primary
Notes: Fleafire wouldn't want any apprentice to go through the growing pains she did. More like a big sister figure, she'll look after them, bail them out of trouble, and teach them all the underhanded tricks that she learned. Devoted but also competitive, and will push them to be the best they can be and then some. Also, her mentor rubbed off on her, so she's got that ShadowClan predjuce and would be more than happy to pass that along. Apprentices wanting to lean toward stealth, dishonorable fighting, and the thief sub role will mesh well with her. Also, those disadvantaged because of injury or size too. Then again, she wouldn't discriminate no matter what apprentice she got. She will be very proud and excited to have her own apprentice!

It's optional, but if you want to corrupt your apprentice to the dark forest, she has connections. She's very proud of her dark forest mentor. He's the best, and can do no wrong. What a standup guy.

Notes: patient, kind, prefers night training; would prefer to mentor a cat who wants to directly go to the thief path

Activity level: secondary character, has many plots and trauma planned tho
Notes: Timid and cautious, Belladonnadance would be a careful mentor, perhaps too careful. She would fuss over her apprentice and if she smelt/heard the slightest hint of a dog, she would go completely catatonic. An apprentice could get her out of her shell however...
 
Name: Crowpaw @CROWPAW.
Potential plots for apprenticeship: Crowpaw is very stubborn and will act out/get into trouble a lot... they will likely be a difficult apprentice for the first few moons of their training until they know they can trust their mentor. they also have big parental issues so they might secretly see their mentor as a parental figure as they build trust, this will show through small actions/mannerisms.
Activity level: casual, low priority
Notes: not sure where their strengths will lie yet, but they will be very eager to learn to fight and defend themself!
 
Name: Mirepurr @MIREPURR
Experience level: Highly skilled in hunting, tracking, and otherwise traversing the marshes. Less confidence in combat but is more or less capable.
Activity level: Flexible / high.
Notes: Mirepurr has already trained an apprentice and is realizing that they miss the act of teaching ShadowClan's young! They are patient, compassionate, and believes in positive reinforcement instead of scolding and punishments.

Experience level: average
Activity level: flexible
Notes: A bright cat, bit of a prankster, bit of a jokester. He will try to mentor younger ones with positivity and cheer, lifting them up.

Re-entering Flamerunner for mentor, since Smudgepaw fell off the census.

the main post has been COMPLETELY cleaned out and updated to fit current pairings and characters that are still census'd/rostered

Experience level: Skilled at traversing the territory and hunting, poor to average at fighting and brand new to teaching/mentoring (overall low experience)
Activity level: High/Primary (I fear everyone knows how insane i am about stoats <3)
Notes:
  • Will have a very similar teaching style to Sablestar (nocturnal training, strong discipline & consistent daily training) but at least for her first apprentice, will be more forgiving/gentle
  • Profoundly deaf so may lead to some issues when it comes to communication but likely will teach any apprentices a lot of pawspeak/non-verbal communication
  • Very patient and kind, maybe to the point of not holding her ground against a more argumentative apprentice but in the same breath could also be too harsh when frustrated with an apprentice not listening and lashing out.
  • Very respectful about the territory, prey and the dead, would instil that same respect (mostly as a residual fear following the haunting event, and also a superstition she gained about collecting bones, especially)
  • Will not go too much into her own gripes or biases towards clanmates or other clans, will ensure any apprentices understand alliances and enemies, but otherwise would expect respect to all cats, especially those in the clan.

Potential plots for apprenticeship: i think a dynamic where she initially dislikes and antagonizes her mentor but gradually grows to respect them could be fun! otherwise i'm up for wherever things go icly
Activity level: Flexible / Secondary
Notes: methodical and efficient, a cutthroat opportunist interested in learning dirty fighting techniques, whether her mentor teaches them or not. hoping to become skilled in hunting and survivalism. a bit of a troublemaker, it's likely to provoke other apprentices (and even its own mentor...) because it likes antagonizing. clinical in its learning, likes observing others reactions. skilled but unmotivated, cares more about herself than providing for her clan.

*note: would need to be backwritten to oct's meeting since marrow is 7 moons!
