His first leading patrol as a member of the Night Guard. Grayflight had to admit he was nervous, but it seemed - at least from the outside - that he was trusted enough.
Despite always finding myself in a situation with lost or abandoned kits that the Clan can't take care of, he thought bitterly. Let's just hope there's nothing like that happening this time. He looked to the other members of the patrol - one a newly named warrior, another a newly named mentor - and found himself thankful that Vulturesong was also among their number. His own apprentice was among their number as well - the stress of the famine had meant Mockingpaw's training had focused primarily on survival, rather than routine activities like a border patrol.
It would prove useful for Viscerapaw too, giving Marrowkeeper an opportunity to begin training, and at least Mockingpaw wouldn't be the only apprentice on the patrol.
Right. ThunderClan border. He'd begun to find himself overcalculating each social situation, even more so with the promotion, but he needed to focus now on the matter at hand.
"It's early morning - we'll likely run into another dawn patrol," he informed his companions. "A reminder for our younger cats, we are here to refresh our own markers and make sure nobody's crossed, be it ThunderClan or otherwise. This border has the Thunderpath, and if we're lucky, all will be quiet-"
He tilted his head as he trod through the snow and approached the Twoleg monstrosity. It glimmered with fractals, shimmering freckles of ice over the usual unpleasant pitch.
"Well. We may be luckier than I thought. I don't think even monsters are foolish enough to run over ice."

OOC: This patrol takes place at DAWN. Please allow for at least one ShadowClan reply before joining with ThunderClan.
ShadowClan patrol members: @VULTURESONG @Marrowkeeper @Monsterbark & our apprentices @Mockingpaw @viscerapaw
This will take place in early dawn when the Thunderpath is usually quiet. In fact, the Thunderpath is icy! Is it worth the risk to play around?
