While grief regarding the barn fire still gripped Comet, it no longer completely suffocated him. He wasn't always lost in those thoughts and the spiral of self-blame that typically came with it. Thanks to the kindness of others in Windclan, Comet had begun to bounce back. While still he wasn't anywhere near like who he was before the disaster, he had been getting better. He interacted with his clanmates more readily instead of being closed off and wholly devoted to the regular run of the mill tasks such as catching prey and helping fix dens or something.
So, lately, he had been socializing more readily. After having that heart-to-heart with Owlbear, Comet had been refamiliarizing himself with the cats of the group. In doing so he had heard a bit of gossip that really caught him off guard— he couldn't fully wrap his head around it. What was it exactly? Well, he had heard Merry had a heated argument with another cat, Sassafras for some reason— and not long after the flames consumed the barn too. Maybe these things were connected?
It was rather unlike Merry to engage in such a thing, or even entertain it for that matter, it sounded very out of character in Comet's opinion. Now, Comet knew little to nothing about Sassafras, so he had no clue who 'started it' or what it was about. Not that it mattered, what mattered is why such a thing happened at all. Knowing full well that there were always two sides to a conflict given that he had two siblings, Comet found himself curious.
Who would he approach first though? Would it be biased to seek out Merry first? Probably, and that didn't seem fair. Instead, Comet decided to try and find Sassafras, choosing to start just on the edge of camp where he asked some older cats for direction. "Heya, has anyone seen Sassafras around?"

Yeah the world is still sleepin' when I keep on dreamin' for me,
And their words are just whispers and lies that I'll never believe!
