• Petalpaw is a mute cat, unable to speak and communicates exclusively through a sign-language he developed with his brother's help that he is happy to teach to others so they can talk to him more easily. Below are the current details on his kitty sign language-more will be added as he develops them.
  

  BASIC GESTURES

  Petalpaw will nod and shake his head in disagreement and affirmation. He will also use his tail to point, flicking it in directions as well as nodding his head that way as well for emphasis. His entire body will lean into these gestures when he is trying to give direction.
  
  Hello - Head bobbing up and down and paw raised to mimic the movement in a wave.
  Goodbye- Head shaking from side to side and paw flicking back in forth to mimic the movement as if waving something away.
  
  Good Morning - Head tilted all the way up and back as if gazing at the sky before nodding it down low, will move his entire body with the motion as if bowing.
  Good Night - Bobs his head from side to side with his eyes closed, 'rocking' himself to sleep.
  Go away - A paw flicked outward as is getting something off of him, will often shake it more the more upset he is.
  Come here - A paw tapped thrice on the ground. The more quickly tapped the more demanding the request. Three taps in rapid succession is urgent.

  MORE DETAILED GESTURES

  "I don't know" - One paw held up, pad facing the sky and head tilted to the side, expression quizzical.
  "Where are you going?" - Sways from side to side, looking back and forth before tilting his head as his gaze focuses back on who he is with.

  EXPRESSIONS

  Petalpaw is extremely expressive in both face and body, he will often not hide his emotions as they are one of the few ways he can communicate and very much wears his heart on his sleeve.

  Referencing himself - A paw waved above the head in a loose arc, as if throwing petals.
  Referencing his brother Peony - Claws out and tucked under his chin, expression scrunched to feign anger.
