Hello and welcome to Purrgatory! We are an 18+ Warrior Cat Roleplay set in an AU where the clans were unable to leave the forest territories and perished!
It has been 100 or more years since then, the clans of the forest are but distant memories to any cats still alive, stories passed down to kits of strangely named wild warriors and leaders with nine lives but the time of the clans is upon us once more and the stars shine yet again.
There were days where talon had lost the ability to remember where he was. He'd wake up from a nap, his body tense, his limbs striking outwards and his teeth baring. after the first time, after single blue eye caught onto meadowpaw inches from him- alarmed, talon had moved his nest to the back corner, further from the entrance. Further from the passing gazes he could see- and deeper into the shadows. It had eased, day by day longer, but sometimes, it still happened.
Unfortunately for morningpaw, talon felt the eyes on his sleeping form- and he woke up from the restless nap with a jolt, black claws digging into the nest as he shot up, body twisting and heart thudding of danger in his chest. He didn't relax, but he moved from aggressive at the sight of the other child to his normal sulk. Head lowered, and limbs stiff, expecting and apprehensive.
"y' can't sneak up on someone sleepin' " he grumbled, rolling his shoulders behind his head. His blue gaze squinted, recognizing- "y' the girl when I first came. didn't catch a name though. hopeful- for a stranger." His bland tone, suggested him the stranger, and it confused him. but otherwise, he left it there. "I ain't dead yet." He assured, unsure why she was there.
It had been a bit since she'd had a good day, but today seemed to be going fine, so Morningpaw decided to visit the medicine den. Not because she was sick or hurt - whatever plagued her probably wasn't curable with herbs - but because she found herself wanting to check in on the loner that they'd found on patrol. She'd brought some prey for him and the other patients, or maybe even the medicine cats themselves. But her lingering gaze was caught by the one she had come to see.
"Ah!" she jumped a little, dropping the chipmunk she was carrying. Her heart pounded in her chest for a few seconds, before the aggressive demeanor of the tom faded into a simple guard.
"I-I'm sorry," she murmured, breathing in. "I-I just... I just wanted to check on you. A-are you hungry? I brought some freshkill. You can give it to someone else though..."
For a while, she was silent, remembering a time past. Of sneaking up on her sleeping mother and startling her, and giggling. The days where she'd smile wide, play and trick others. The days where she only knew happiness.
Morning, and then Morningkit... It felt like they were different from Morningpaw.
Finally, she spoke. "Morningpaw. My name... is Morningpaw. You're about my age, I think so... I dunno. I just... we're... young and... it was scary and..." The torbie trailed off, looking away. "I-I can go... I can... I'm sorry."
How foolish of her to think that she could escape her doubts.
Talon wasn't one to receive company. Morningpaw was the first one to check on him besides the medicine cats. The only one. He should appreciate that, something told him. He should understand that she came all the way here to bring him prey-
You scared her. Good job, talon.
Talon let out a breath. She stumbled over her words, her head ducking and ears folding. Her eyes wouldn't even look at him now- and he could just stare. "...Thank you," he said finally after rolling his tongue in his mouth and waiting for her to finish. "Y'don't have t' go. Yer fine." He said, even if he wanted to finish his nap, he had felt some inclination to try to make her not scared of him. "I can be scary. I don't try." He said, referencing the 'it was scary' as if it meant he was scary. He wouldnt have meant to. He didn't exactly know how to make up for it, eyeing the fresh kill, then back to morningpaws violently purple eyes- an odd colour he didn't really see, ever.
"Yer eyes are purple." He stated, blue eye staring at hers in a moment before looking away, rolling his shoulders behind him as if trying to relax them. "Stay. I won't be able t' eat this all." He said, his voice blunt as if not leaving her much of a choice. It wasn't as if he cared if she decided to leave after his antics, but, he'd prefer she feel better than everyone else thinking he made some girl cry because he couldn't control himself.
