Morning fog rolled slowly over the shore and wrapped around sturdy, striped legs poised in shallow waters. The wet cool seeped through Storm's fur and made her shiver at its touch. She longed for the days of newleaf when she was at least hopeful the air around her would warm. Today, she had no hope for the like and resigned to tuck her chin into her fluffy chest to stave off some of the cold. The ocean was no better this time of year. It took her breath away anytime she dipped her paws into it.

At the sound of stony beach rocks clacking against each other, the whorled she-cat turned her head expecting to find her brother. A very not-Frost she-cat looked at her with soft eyes.

"Oh! Hello! I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else," Storm turned to face her with a soft smile. She had seen her around the shipyard, but never truly had the chance to say hello. Ever since she had been able to meet Smoke and Willow, she suddenly felt more open to meeting new cats. It had been hard after Tangle died. All she had wanted to do was curl into her brother's fur and forget about the world. Now, though, she felt more open to meeting new faces.

"Would you like to join me? I was trying to see if I could snag some fish for later," she explained, lazily dragging her paw through the weak shore-side current.

Downy is not often without her sister. They are tethered to one another like how some of the floating wood-monsters are taut to the docks. She can't imagine being out here, in the shipyard, without the ghost-pelted moggy - even if at one point, she hadn't thought that Tide would've joined her in the wilderness at all. It was a gracious sacrifice her sibling committed to, and one that does not go unnoted. That said, they are still two beings; sometimes they need time apart to avoid sibling-brawls. Still, if she knew who Storm was thinking of, she'd be able to relate. Locked at the tail, the other and her brother must be at times.

"Oh, it's no problem," the soft pelted molly murmurs in response, only noticing now that she's intruding. She had been lost in her thoughts prior, lost in her memories of when things were okay. Her ear twitches as she looks over at the water, listening to Storm's offer for company. In response, Downy feels uncomfortable. "I - well," she inches closer, her own blue eyes scouring the water for flickers of silver or shadows beneath the waves. Eventually she admits, "I've never caught anything before. Not well, anyways. I've gotten a few old mice once..." Her jaw tenses and in a moment of bravery, she says, "Could you... show me how to do it?" If she's to survive a wildcat, she needs to learn.
