∘˙○˚.•Kuhli was sad they were leaving their caretakers behind, but they knew it was the right choice. They knew the elders couldn't be there for them anymore and would have to give them up. But Kuhli didn't want to go live with other, unknown humans.
They had heard of cat groups, these so called 'Clans', living in the territories outside the village. They weren't sure if the rumors were true or just legends made up by the local kittypets, but they thought it was worth a try. Better to get used to a new environment on their own terms. And apparently one of the 'Clans' lived near waters! Kuhli loved that their caretakers had a pond in the garden to swim in and occasionally snag a fish from. They would rather live in the wild with a colony of cats than risk not having access to water and fish anymore.
And when Brook, had decided to join them on their quest to find the Clans, they were ecstatic. A journey like this was definitely more managable in a pair, even with one as snarky as their sibling.
They figured out the general location of where they needed to go to from the other kittypets and set a day to leave with Brook. The last day with their elders, Kuhli made sure to show them how much they loved them, appreciated their care. They brought a parting gift, a big feather that smelled of the sky and wind, and set it carefully in their worn out nest. So this was it. They were actually leaving.
The next day, before sunrise, they snuck out through their cat-sized door, blinked once, twice, then turned around and never looked back. A few streets over, they met up with Brook. "Ready to go?" they asked, nervous and excited at the same time. "Let's hope these clans aren't just legend."
