Okay... She could do this. She could do this. Marbleshine took a deep breath and limped forward, her smile soft but determined as she looked to Frogheart and Snowdropheart. " Alright. " she meowed, voice calm despite the flutter in her chest. " We can go check out WindClan's border. See if their cats are okay or if they might need some kind of help. " She padded along beside the pair, her purr rumbling faintly through the cool air, trying to keep spirits light. " I.. I suppose if we find something to hunt, we should... " she added after a moment's thought, only for her ears to flick back in mild embarrassment.

" B-but I should probably not.. " Her gaze dropped toward the scarred shoulder that never quite moved right anymore. " I like hunting alone more. I'm not so good at... Keeping up, with groups. " There was no self-pity in her voice, only quiet honesty, and that same enduring gentleness that carried her through everything. When they reached the border, Marbleshine paused, head tilting slightly. Something about the air here felt... Off. Still. Too still.

" Right, uhm... " she murmured, lowering her paw into the soft ground. Mud swallowed her pawprint whole when she lifted it again, a frown creasing her brow. " It's wetter than usual... Careful where you-- " she spoke as she moved upward the hill, the smile upon her face freezing at place. A faint shudder rippled through the ground beneath them. The mud began to shift, slow but steady.

Marbleshine's ears pricked, eyes widening. " ... Move. "

OOC: The storms plauging the moor are gone, but they've left a mark on the earth that still hasn't faded. As you climb the hill that leads to the Windclan border, the wet ground beneath your paws begins to collapse, threataning to sweep you up in a mudslide.

I rolled a twice with disadvantage for marble due to her injury, for now she is safe :) its up to you guys if yall were already up the hill too and whether they get caught in it or not!

Frogheart had to admit, Marbleshine never seemed to struggle to keep her chin up, no matter what. Even limping along toward the Windclan border - not a short trek - in the Leaffall chill, she was purring and smiling. He wondered if this attitude was what had prompted Mothbite to let her lead the patrol. Despite the significant age and experience gap, Frogheart couldn't deny that she wasn't always the most... levelheaded warrior. Hop tried to shove away the shame that wormed through her pelt. He didn't care. Obviously. Hop wasn't an ambitious cat, exactly.

He nodded with a small, empathetic smile. "No worries," hop mewed. "If there's anything to hunt - which, big if - Snowdropheart and I can see if we can snag if real quick. But we should focus on the border, either way." He didn't want the younger warrior to feel bad, like she was holding them up. Besides, she really was tired of fruitless hunts.

As the group approached the Thunderpath near the border, Marbleshine stopped them to warn of the wet earth, just as Mothbite had. Frogheart held his tongue. He couldn't imagine why the other warriors were so worried about some mud. It wasn't anything Shadowclan wasn't used to. Still, attempting to be polite, she let Marbleshine slowly lead the way up the incline towards the Thunderpath. Mothbite had been right to warn them about how nasty the area was. Rogue branches and Twoleg rubbish were scattered all around, remnants of the storm that had ravaged Windclan's territory. Hop was so distracted by the devastation that he didn't register Marbleshine's warning until the ground was already shifting beneath her paws.

It was slow, at first. Frogheart lifted one paw out of the mud and shook it off, unconcerned. Then, she felt her other paws begin to slide backwards along with the muck. His eyes shot open. "Huh?" Was all hop could think to utter as she reached out, trying to dig her claws into more solid ground. There was nothing to grab onto, just more wet, amorphous mud. She scrabbled desperately with his paws against gravity, but his mud-clogged claws were useless. Hop was falling, sliding downhill with the mess as the mudslide picked up speed.

Snowdropheart

Snowdropheart followed the two older warriors quietly, obediently. The ground beneath them was foul, smelly and wet, but Snowdropheart has been getting used to not being able to clean the muck from her white paws anymore, not in these wet moons at least.

She was the last in line when they approached the slight hill and only watched as the mud beneath their paws started to slide down. "Frogheart!" she yelped at her kin as hop started to slide down with the muck. With quick steady steps, she grabbed his coat with her teeth, grounding him fom slipping even further. Unfortunately the force of it made her own paws loose their grip and she lost her balance, falling towards the ground. Not dangerously, nor did it make her slide further down, but most of her white coat was now brown and black, cowered in the liquidy dirt.

"Oh stars..." she sighed looking herself over. "This will take forever to clean up." Maybe she could ask Wisteriastrike for help back in camp, though she didn't want to get mud into the nursery... although it would have probably dried by the time she got back to camp and would not stain the kittens' haven.

For now, Snowdropheart only rose to her feet carefully. "Let's just... try to push on." It wasn't that she minded her coat getting stained, she just dreaded the work that would follow from it. "At least the prey won't catch my scent... if there's any left." she tried to lighten up the situation, though she still felt a little down, a little tired. Another moon without proper food was taking its toll on her and no matter how much she's tried, she had a hard time shaking off the exhaustion.
OOC: Rolled an 11/20 on the mud slide itself, i also rolled a d10 and got a 9 on catching Frogheart
