LEADER OF SKYCLAN

.

// backwritten a little to just a bit after the windclan / skyclan first meet

It does not feel out of place to sit at the edge of the gorge. It is a surprising realization, but one that Hawkstar settles into easily. She had grown up in a ravine not too different from the one that roared up at her. If she truly wanted, she could scale either side of the thing just to feel the river-spray misting across her whiskers. It would be exhilarating.

But far too dangerous for an evening excursion without backup. What if she got too wet? Certainly none of her warriors would be able to fish her out, especially not the apprentices that had unfortunately been trained far from the red-rock ravine that had hardened her pads, far from the spires she had cut her teeth on and the crevices she had learned to search for without sight as she climbed.

Climbing trees provided a reasonable alternative, but they were soft and forgiving compared to the gorge. Hawkstar missed it distantly.

Her tail flicked curiously as she picked her way from the edge of the gorge to the bridge that connected SkyClan territory to WindClan. This was unmarked land, a truced border between them that did not require a strong marker at the middle. Even still, Hawkstar did well to stay on SkyClan's implicit side, her ears perked in interest towards the crashing and roaring of the river below. How curious, how furious was the water… had SkyClan's century-old home been carved from the same occurrence? In another thousand generations, were cats of SkyClan going to scramble to the bottom of this ravine, once it had too been abandoned by its river and left a sullen gash in the earth?

Hawkstar could only hope that SkyClan would last another hundred generations, another thousand, on and on and on, due to her own leadership.

indentOnce again, Dustystar's paws lead her to the gorge. Despite the threat of a deadly fall, the sound of the rushing water is comforting. Often, Dustystar finds herself imagining what it might be like to lap up the cool, swift moving water, letting it rush down her throat and drip down her chin. If only there were an easier way down.

indentDustystar only indented to peek over the edge of the gorge before returning to her hunting, but an unfamiliar cat resting on the bridge catches her attention. Skyclan. Cautiously, she approaches. Although they were intimidating, Skyclan had never shown intent of cruelty or violence towards Windclan. Maybe a truce was possible?

indent"Hello," Dustystar calls, voice uncharacteristically quiet. She steps onto her own side of the bridge, before peering over the edge a few feet away from the other molly. "The water is mesmerizing to watch, isn't it?"
