(˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗) it is not as bitterly cold as it will be, but starlitpath still finds the chill that whistles through the pines an annoyance. her pale nose and ears are rosy with the chill, and despite her insistence that her short fur is thick, she still feels chills creeping up her spine. snow is soon to fall, she knows, once again blanketing the territory and hindering skyclan's hunting for the next few moons. as she leads the patrol towards the thunderclan border, she finds herself missing green-leaf immensely. although... green-leaf had been lonelier than she'd like to admit. a glance back to meet evergreen eyes has the warrior's face flushing. swarmswirl had insisted on accompanying this patrol, and starlitpath has pushed down the knowledge that this act pleases her.

fixing their attention back on the task at hand, the warrior scents the air, noting the approaching smell of thunderclan. the musky oak scent is warm upon the cool air, and they wrinkle their nose as the border comes into sight. this place has been a site for massive violence, on both skyclan and thunderclan's parts. the king's child feels no remorse for such actions from their clan, but they loathe to interact with the forest's warriors. still, right now is a popular time for patrols and it is likely they will come across enemy warriors marking the border. "i suppose we should be... civil," they mutter to their group, although the twitching of their tail gives away how little they want to be polite. "try not to start anything, even if they do."

with this, he releases them to begin marking, and joins swarmswirl's side, brushing against the other briefly before rubbing his scent into a nearby pine. aqua eyes are watchful, scanning the leaf-less forest beyond for movement. in this place, he feels the blood of his mother coursing through him, the knowledge that he is hawkstar's legacy. he will not allow skyclan to loose another by thunderclan's claws.

things have been tense with this clan.... do you think their feud is petty..? have some pride in skyclan and remember why we must protect our borders, and our clanmates.

PENNED BY PLOT

Cloudbearer hadn't had the chance yet to meet any of the other Clans, so the prospect of being sent on a border patrol was exciting, if a little intimidating. ThunderClan's name had been thrown around in camp with vitriol, so he couldn't help but be wary about meeting any of their warriors. His fur fluffed against the cold, and he padded after Starlitpath with his head held high and his gaze sharp.

"Have you dealt with them before?" he asked the other warrior as he began to mark the border.
OOC:

Blizzardblaze was not one to create hostility where none existed, regardless of his personal feelings. He considered it his primary job to keep his Clanmates safe, and that meant not treating patrolling warriors from other Clans with hostility, even if it may have been in keeping with the general relationship between their respective groups. That felt like a path to introducing risk, and that was the opposite of his (self-assigned) purpose in life. The small black-and-white tomcat had been on the lookout for anything furry or feathery and delicious-looking, his head low to the ground as he drew deep breaths in, hoping to catch a prey-scent. Instead, his senses were assailed by the pine-rich scent of SkyClan and he found himself tensing slightly.

SkyClan's here. Probably just a patrol. Still, it would be best to check it out. Blizzardblaze straightened up and hurriedly followed his nose; he had been quite far from camp, hoping to hunt in an under-utilized area to increase his chances of a successful catch. Therefore it did not take long for him to come upon the border and spot Starlitpath, Cloudbearer, and their Clanmates, their voices an indistinct blur as they talked amongst themselves. Relief filled him: this did not have the look of any kind of ambush or prey-stealing party. It seemed to be a regular, run-of-the-mill border patrol.

"Hi there." Blizzardblaze called out, alighting on a stump and studying the SkyClanners. "How fares SkyClan these days? It's starting to get cold..."
