JINGLEMOON
RIVERCLAN | MEDICINE CAT | HE/THEY | 29 MOONS | DINGO |
The warning of bear and dog sightings by SkyClan was welcomed in the medicine cats' mind, it benefited every cat in each clans to know of threats they all shared. WindClan's news about a flood made his ears flatten though, no cat seemed to have been swept away by it thankfully but he worried for his nephews and made a note to drop by the clan's border at some point with an offering of herbs like they had done for him not too long ago. He was sure the flooding waters would've made an absolute mess of their herb stores... He hoped Eclipsepaw and Cometpaw were alright and had helped the WindClanners as much as they could without endangering themselves in the process.
ThunderClan's news though caught him by surprise, his fur fluffed in alarm at hearing that Serpentberry was dead. His blue gaze would search for Rowanpaw among the other gathered cats, both of them had been present at the last half moon meeting... What had happened between then and now? And what exactly had killed the medicine cat? Serpentberry wasn't defenseless and certainly seemed capable with her claws and especially her teeth from what he could discern from all their prior meetings. ThunderClan's news wasn't yet done though as Juniperstar announced that they would be going instead by the name Loonstar. Jinglemoon looked concerned and confused, her tone and posture... It was all different from the leader he had met and heard about before, the look she cast to Pikestar held something unspoken and the way they delivered the warning at the end of the news... The medicine cat worried for their clans' allyship.
Sablestar of ShadowClan's only news outside of nursery numbers was that one of his council had apparently been murdered by their ThunderClan son. He found his sympathy lacking for the lost ShadowClanner here though, as he thought back to how their clan stole his herbs and attacked him and his clanmates. He was sure this Coalstrike fellow had done something as equally dishonourable as ShadowClan had done then to end up how he did in the end, he wouldn't have been surprised if he had been one of the cats who had been present during the herb heist as well. What did interest him about ShadowClan though as they gathered in the clearing was how thin and dull-coated they all seemed to be. Blue eyes narrow and he searches for Frostmoth, wondering if the deputy was thinking similarly in that they needed to be wary of ShadowClan attempting to steal more than just herbs soon enough.
His eyes would flash up to Pikestar though when it was time for RiverClan's news. Could their leader not see the thinning forms of the ShadowClan cats? Why would he mention that their prey was bountiful now? Jinglemoon sighed inwardly, maybe Pikestar still had faith that the other clan would not attempt to steal from them a second time or perhaps he hadn't noticed the change in the ShadowClanners' appearances from where he stood.
The medicine cat would look away though when he mentioned Rainpaw, feeling a little bitter that such news was even told to the other clans if it wasn't going to be used as an opportunity to ask if any cat had maybe seen her in the other territories. He tried to just push aside the burning feeling in his stomach that had begun to bubble and focus instead on that his recently graduated niece now had her warrior name and had been invited to come along to the Gathering as well-- Had her brothers graduated as well? He wondered what their full names would be then if they had, he looked for any familiar WindClanner pelts he might be able to ask about it.
