The land beyond the meadows of RiverClan looked hardly appetizing to the eyes. Even if the shipyard was a dingy, empty husk of what once lived there, Ivytwist could say it still felt less eerie than where he padded through now.

The white-patched tabby isn't sure why he left the borders today. His patrol had returned the camp, but he wasn't quite ready to return just yet. He knew Hydrangea would be waiting for him there, probably holding another gift the wrap around his tail or paws. He was not eager to endure and entertain his mates chatter, still wanting to take the daylight for himself while he could. Alone. RiverClan felt suffocating even without Hydra's insistent affections, but he knew it was infinitely safer than trying to live somewhere like this without them.

His ears flattened as he heard the distant barking from a dog somewhere north of him, but the trees were still too thick to see anything but glimpses of twoleg nests and fences. His focus on the barking had nearly cost him his nose, though, as he narrowly missed colliding into the dirt from a gnarled root breaking the surface. Ivytwist barely caught himself and loudly exhaled in his relief. Now was not the time for a twisted paw keeping him nestbound for a few days.

Heather is busy lounging on top of a low-hanging branch, chewing on a stalk of wheat she'd snatched earlier this morning while teasing the sheep. They were so silly! Heather could run circles around them until they all got dizzy, and then she would lay down on one of the tired ones. They had comfy pelts. But even teasing sheep got boring, and she had ended up returning to this tree to waste the day away. Maybe she would go catch some food later, or sweet-talk a Twoleg to give her some food if she was desperate.

Her day was going pretty well, if a little lonely, until she sees a strange cat padding around below her. She watches him with interest, sky blue eyes sparkling, and giggles as the clumsy tom nearly trips over a root.

"Nice save," she calls from overhead, twitching her tail in interest.

Another voice sounds from above and the fur along Ivytwist's back prickles in uneasy surprise. It was not often Ivytwist was caught off guard, or caught unaware of his surroundings. He often prided himself on being an observant type, it came with the title of his weaving abilities in catching knots before they occurred or materials in the dark waters. When his gaze lifted to meet Heather's, his smile is forced, trying to measure her up. She didn't appear too disturbed by him being around, at least.

"Have some experience yourself?" Ivytwist meowed back with a hint of humor. "Didn't mean to break into your home, if this is yours to claim." It looked so desolate and empty, he doubted anyone would want to call it their own. "If it's any reassurance, I'm not here in matters of prey or shelter, either."

She purrs a laugh, swinging her tail back and forth.

"Don't think you can really... intrude if we're just out and about," she mews. She stands, stretching her muscles and letting the shudder run through her body. Naptime is over, she supposes! She bunches her muscles and leaps down to the ground, eyeing the stranger closer as pads forward.

"I don't really have a 'home,'" she chirps, sitting down in front of the young tom. "Just kinda wandering right now! Was about to take a little afternoon nap before you showed up!" She moves the stalk of hay to the side of her mouth as she speaks, so as not to impede her words. She tilts her head.

"Not looking for prey or shelter?" she questions. "Not that I'd mind, like I said, I don't own this tree or anything... But if you aren't looking for that, whatcha doin' here?"
